Fucked Up est un cas à part dans la scène punk/hardcore actuelle tant l’évolution du groupe est un beau pied de nez à l’immobilisme et aux idées reçues. La musique des canadiens puise hargne et énergie dans les classiques du hardcore (guitares entraînantes, chant puissant…) sans jamais se cantonner aux limites du genre. Fucked Up propose ainsi des morceaux aux reliefs épiques, chargés en arrangements inventifs et en refrains rageurs. Pour enfoncer le clou, le groupe apporte une véritable réflexion sur le monde qui l’entoure.
