Mr. Francis Michael Crocker a/k/a Frankie Crocker. I first met Frankie at WWRL (1600 AM-NYC) in 1966-67 when I was hired as the Switch Board Operator , 3PM-10PM shift. Boy, what a surprise when I first heard his opening "rap", I had to look in the studio and watched in amazement as he cited, " put more glide in your stride, more dip in your hip" and "there's a hole in your soul and you don't eat chicken on Sunday", etc. I accomplied Frankie to after work Club Dates, where he showcased Artist to Queens, Long Island and NYC audiences. In 1969-1970 I rejoined Frankie at WLIB-FM when be became the first to play the Jackson Five which began the transition from the Jazz format to a "mixed bag" of Black Music Artist. I coined the phrase, "Total Black Experience in Sound" based upon my NYU Radio School Finals, which I also presented to Frankie, and it became the theme for the Launch of WBLS (107.5 FM) in 1970. I was Engineer/Production/DJ/ Record Librarian and overnight DJ and sub DJ at "BLS"
