groupe allemand formé en 1996 sous le nom de FLOWING TEARS AND WITHERED FLOWERS qui a l’epoque n’avait pas de chanteuse, en effet il s’agissait du guitariste Manfred Bersin qui a pose sa voix sur le premier album « swansongs ». Stefanie Duchene a rejoint le groupe pour l’enregistrement du deuxieme album « joy parade », Sortie en 1999 du mini cd autoproduit « swallow », puis le groupe a signé chez CENTURY MEDIA ou il sortira les albums « jade » en 2000 puis « serpentine » en 2002, puis en 2004 pour l’enregistrement de l’album « razorbliss » une nouvelle chanteuse… , a la voix assez grave, arrive au sein du groupe apportant une autre dimension au metal atmospherique du groupe.

sound wise i supose Flowing Tears are much closer to bands like Tiamat and Nosferatu, then they are to any female fronted band....this, along with slightly more fluid keybord lines almost make Flowing Tears a unique band on the FFM scene

Silentium and Flowing Tears do sound "similar" in the vocals department. As in most of the female fronted metal bands have singers that have a high tone of voice, whilst both Silentium's and Flowing Tears' singers have a lower one. But do they sound alike to the point of comparing both bands? I'm not sure.

I don't think Silentium even really sound like Flowing Tears, from what I remember of them. I don't think anyone sounds all that similar to FT, hence why I still like them after getting bored of the gothic metal scene for that exact reason (they all sound the same).

@Nemesis_11, I know this comparison doesn't make sense, but I prefer Helen's voice anyway. Both are good, but, sopranos and so sweet voices are a like a cliche in gothic metal, but Helen's voice is unique, in my opinion
