AGURbut? *Argued" *Agreed* ... Working for K-TEL > An acid trip in itself? You Americans always tipped over your watered-down beer, eh? Even your canoes were tipped to the water. (Chear beer comment.) Favourite College Fraternities - 1) Tappa Kega Beera - 2) Phi Phelta Thigh... Lived in watered down canoes with SCTV Alums. Bad canoe joke. Fake Fridge worked?!?!?!!!!!!!

Whew! Was makin' sure that last one went thru !!! Hallelulah,Brah. The song "Absolutely Right" by the 5MEB got me to thinking how promoted it was/wasn't. K-TEL had a " Greatest Hits" out by late Summer 1971 by 5 Man Electrical Band. The song,"Absolutely Right" was always on it, but "Signs" the bigger hit never was. (Billboard No #3 vs # 26) This went on forever... Til this day, I could never figure out what idiot(s) was behind that. Subsequent visits to the old dusty record bins of the day were all met with "Absolute.."-yay/ "Signs"-nay. Not that big a deal, at the time I AGURbut I always wondered what other songs K-TEL butchered? Anyone?

For real..this story(s) is/are. Spellcheck anyone? This was any trip back then. <3<3<3(Mood for a day) to ye local record store circa 1970 - 1974 (Most were Mom & Pops) A few were bigger (*Yawn*) like Grant's, Loblaw's, GC Murphy's, Gold Circle, Steven Richard's maybe? Missing any? Hmm, how 'bout S&H GreenStamps..um..usable maybe? (Shh !!! Getting to my point......) The main tie-in w/ all these stores back then circa 1970-74 wass the "dreaded" K-TEL Album - Ugh !!! (Cue "Twilight Zone" theme music, now!) K-TEL ,you ask? Usually a horrible album by a horrible star. Or a really bad album w/ 1-2 "hits. Horrrible brand, cut of album, promoted by,warped easily... etc. Bad for business. Nuff said. Mainly albums w/cheaper 8-Tracks, Cassettes, Reel-to-reels. Stories for another day... (Continued)
