Five Horse Johnson est un groupe de blues-rock américain, formé en 1995 à Toledo, Ohio. Bien que loin d’être un groupe célèbre, ils ont tourné avec des groupes populaires comme Clutch et Halfway to Gone. Le groupe combine hard rock, blues et d’autres influences dans un mélange de stoner rock/blues qu’il aime appeler eux-même. The Mystery Spot, leur dernier album propose de nombreux featuring dont un avec le batteur Jean-Paul Gaster de Clutch.
Deux de leurs chansons apparaissent sur des jeux vidéo:
Mississippi King (sur l’album No. 6 Dance) dans « Tony Hawk’s Underground » et I Can’t Shake It (de l’album The Mystery Spot) dans le jeux « MLB 2K7 ».
Tout récemment, le chanteur, Eric Oblander, a fait une apparition sur le dernier album de Clutch, From Beale Street to Oblivion.
