Fear Factory est fondé à Los Angeles aux Etats-Unis en 1990 par Burton C. Bell (chant), Raymond Herrera (batterie) et Dino Cazares (guitare). Il enregistre deux morceaux pour la compilation L.A. Death Metal avant de sortir son premier album Soul of a New Machine en 1992. Le bassiste Andrew Shives rejoint le groupe pour permettre à Dino Cazares de jouer de la guitare en concert. Fear Factory signe l’année suivante le maxi Fear Is The Mind Killer sur lequel des titres sont remixés par Rhys Fulber et Bill Leeb du groupe electro-indus Front Line Assembly. Pendant l’enregistrement, la formation est rejointe par le clavier Reynor Diego qui, avec Rhys Fulber, est présent sur les tournées. Andrew Shives est remplacé en 1994 par Christian Olde Wolbers. Un an plus tard, Fear Factory signe son deuxième album, Demanufacture, puis en 1997 Remanufacture - Cloning Technology, constitué de remixes des titres de Demanufacture. Les membres du groupe s’investissent alors dans des projets parallèles et attendent 1998 pour enregistrer leur troisième album, Obsolete. En 2001, paraît Digimortal. L’année suivante sort Concrete, réédition d’une démo enregistrée initialement en 1991.
En mars 2002, Burton C. Bell annonce son départ du groupe, l’expliquant par des conflits entre les membres.

Transgression к сожалению не удался. Во-первых три отстойных трека Supernova, New Promise, I Will Follow. Во-вторых не их это звучание. В-третьих только одна пиздатая песня песня My Grave, ну и пару припевов в пару треках.

Любимая группа, каждый альбом различен как по стилю так и по звучанию. Тяжелый сердитый дэт SoaNM с психоделичными рифами и клин вокалом, холодный отрывистый быстрый Demanufacture с запоминающими припевами, куча драйва и охуенный дисторшн и бас в Obsolete, электронный Digimortal, который и берет своей простотой, и отрывистый Archetype с пиздатыми ударными.

Invisible Wounds (Dark Bodies) is a great song, usually don't listen to metal but these guys kick ass. When I was younger I used to listen to em quite a lot!

Hey Riktenkay, I really enjoyed Transgression a lot too. I liked how they experimented a little on that album and I think its even better now looking back on it because it seems like their next cd is going to the classic FF sound again so Transgression is really cool in contrast. If you change the tracklisting around it makes the cd ten times stronger

New album will be "bomb" because of Dino is back in the band. They sound like their olden selves, given the fact that Herrera isn't in. Hoglan is a very decent fill in, however. It'll be a great album :)

Oh, please, you're just celebrating the new album because there's Gene "Fat-Boy" Hoglan. He's a monster drummer, but his style is different to herrera's. Then, Imho, the new album will suck compared to Obsolete or Demanufacture.
