Fairyland est un groupe français de power metal symphonique, créé en 1998, par Willdric Lievin et Philippe Giordana.
Le groupe a sorti deux albums. D’abord « Of Wars in Osyrhia » en 2003 et « The Fall of an Empire » en 2006. Leurs influences proviennent de groupe tels que Rhapsody ou encore Blind Guardian.
Récemment Anthony, Vincent, Tom et Max ont décidé de quitter Fairyland et de créer leur propre projet. Philippe Giordana reste alors le seul membre du groupe et il confirme que le groupe va poursuivre d’une manière ou d’une autre.

Terribly underrated band... I mean come on, Fairyland is just amazing, one of the best Power Metal bands ever, and so few people know them... They should be more popular, since all their albums kick ass!

Fantastic work, I would say Score To A New Beginning would be my favorite as of now (I don't own Of Wars In Osyrhia yet), but geez, the singing, vocals, melodies and keyboard are just brilliant. There is no song on that album that I don't like.

I'm surprised they chose the"Fairyland" spelling rather than the "Faerieland" spelling, since "Faerie" is used more often for the traditional depictions (dangerous, and pretty darn metal) while "Fairy" is more often used for the Shakespearean/Diseny/Diminutive/not-metal-at-all depictions. Maybe they weren't aware of the different uses of the different spellings in English, since they are presented in dictionaries as just being alternate spellings of the same word?
