1. United Kingdom

The creators of heavy metal, the original country. Metal started in the UK, and from the NWOBHM movement came the subgenres.

A little ensemble of metal bands with a sound that has enormous landscapes, powerful atmosphere and lyrics that are either long stories or just deep and gripping. These are the best of the "epic" kind metal. I'm not talking about the "genre" "epic metal".
