Dog Fashion Disco était un groupe de metal experimental originaire de Rockville dans le Maryland. Actifs de 1996 à 2007, DFD était connu pour mélanger metal avec du jazz, des sonorités psychedeliques, du piano ou encore de la musique de cirque. Une de leur influence majeure était le groupe californien Mr. Bungle. Peu aprés leur concert final en janvier 2007, 3 membres de Dog Fashion Disco ont lancé leur propre groupe: Polkadot Cadaver.

i can't get into this band, too much of a carbon copy of mr. bungle. a laughable pastiche at best. no depth or originality whatsoever. i wish these mike patton knockoff bands would just cease to exist, they make me teary with overwhelming sadness and compassion for mike patton and his fans.

I've become a huge Todd Smith fan since hearing Adultery. Everything he does is pretty much amazing, though so far DFD has to be his greatest project.

I think that people are meaning to compare them to Patton in general, not bungle. You can't deny that they are DIRECTLY influenced from Patton.

Just recently heard of this band. Listened to Adultery. Liked it fine. But this is the only band I've heard that is so obviously a carbon copy of another artist (Mike Patton) and I seem to be okay with it. Maybe it's because I love Patton so much, that I want to believe that there's an alternate universe where Patton put out DFD's music.
