Elle s’appelle Dawn, elle est originaire du Kentucky, elle a 26 ou 27 ans, elle aime la France et la France le lui rend bien. Après de nombreux concerts (première partie et festival) en France, son second album (Fireproof), sorti récemment en France est déjà un succès. Entre Andrew Bird et Feist et avec une pointe de Joanna Newsom, Dawn nous livre une folk plus traditionnel que les artistes de sa génération. Dès la première écoute de « Fireproof », on se rend compte que le son bien qu’assez nu et brut est très largement travaillé (Dawn est aussi ingé-son) avec des incursions pop. Les textes aussi sont travaillés, Dawn est plus une poète qu’une songwriter.
