Самый скучный из всех его альбомов.

I just listened to it - extremely mediocre. Hopefully it will sound better on the second listen...

I liked "Hours" from the first listen, i prefer it over "Heathen" and" Reality". The cover is beautiful, I like the whole idea of the reincarnation into a new, laid-back Bowie for this album. It's so ethereal.

Such an enjoyable album after you've given it a couple of spins.

Simply put - the most underreated Bowie record and, imho,. much better than "Heathen" or "Reality," although both of those records are quite good too. This was the first Bowie record (with perhaps the exception of "The Buddah of Suburbia") that seemed to respect the collector's of Bowie's 70's and 80's catalogue. I still remember my excitment at hearing it for the first time and thinking how great it was compared to "Outside" and "Earthling," both of which seemed to prefer performing oral sex on Trent Reznor as opposed to being a good record. If you look closely at the cover you'll see that it is the (then) current long-haired Bowie holding the head of the (thankfully dying) short-haired from the "Outside"/"Earthling" Bowie. A "New Angel of Promise" indeed!

I used to listen to this album a lot when I was a kid. My first Bowie record. Still sounds good.

The Nomad Soul was how I found about David Bowie as well. Back in 1999 or 2000. :) Still my favourite and very special Bowie album. I remember how in Omikron you could just walk into a bar and there was David Bowie playing 'New Angels of Promise' or 'Survive' with his freaky pals, haha, I didn't even know who the hell he was back then. Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain are good, but Omikron: The Nomad Soul is still their masterpiece in my opinnion, thanks to David Bowie's music and that gorgeous cyberpunkish atmosphere it created.

I'm fond of the production. And ever-increasingly so of the entire album.

Uhm, hours... and hence Thursday's Child were not released in 2003/04, but in 1999.

I agree about the sound. I also just don't think that any of the songs really distinguish themselves very much. I much prefer 'Heathen' and (especially) 'Reality'.

There are some very good songs on this one, but the tinny production doesn't always bring the best out of them. I don't really know what exactly happened there... but this is his worst *sounding* album.
