The more operatic she sings the more I like, and her not-operatic voice is beautiful. I think I prefer her operatic vocal because I love opera singing and her voice, oh God, her voice, her vibrato, her head voice... She is a gift to metal.

Best debut I've heard for 2011. Love the assertive symphonic approach, and Chiara's vocals are mesmerizing!

@MarikLunatic, I'm not even sure she was criticizing you, but it is good that you clarified your point of view :D

That's what I hope. Because, if it's not, I'll listen and remember "The Awakening of Gaia" as the best album of 2011 and one of the latest best sympho blabla. Just saying, even the other italian sympoblabla"Tystnaden" band is beautiful, they were beautiful at "The Shame of Perfection" times and evolved their own style in "In Our Eye". So.. what? My fav band is an underground one from Italy? Ohh does this make all your "Oh please don't be comparing everything to AF NW EPI" meaningless? Try to take critiques like critiques, and when a band is named to go outside of their style and look at the band as a phenomenon, as you called Crysalys, and understand. Anyway, if there is a comment you don't like (and can't fully understand) I suggest you to stay silent and not start hating for the sake of. If you want to hate there is nightbox =P.

LOL, what is it, an attack where you read only what you want to read? Be sure I can give only hate to those bands who are mere copies of other ones, as a proof the symphoblablablafemaleblablametal switched from my fav genre to one of the less listened, because of no new band. But when we find something beautiful, something that's unique and that's purrrfect and new and fresh, should we just stay listening hoping they'll remain THE SAME for years and years? Evolution, that's what I'm talking about. I did the Epica/AF confrontation 'cause of this: Epica still remains the same. Oh, okay. Moar effects. Moar production. Moar of all. But still the same as their first demo. Or even less. After Forever evolved with no stop, and even their singer had a beautiful opera voice at the time they used it. I want evolution and variety. Crysalys ARE beautiful, no doubt on this, but WILL BE? Crysalys will evolve or remain on the same formula for years and albums to come?

Oh, please! Out of the billion female fronted metal bands that have come out recently with hardly anything that even remotely comes close to being "unique", Crysalys stands because of their wonderful compositions and the absolutely kick ass voice of Chiara. This is not a generic band, they're creative, have talent and have worked for their art for many years, not just to "have a female fronted metal band and be the new Epica". After 10 years of listening to this "phenomenon" (female fronted [gothic-symphonic] metal) it's really difficult to find a "new" band that brings something new, interesting and good to the table. We don't want another AF, nor another NW, we want fresh music that gives the genre(s?) a better reputation. Other than being a female fronted, operatic metal band, I cannot find anything that would make you compare this band to any of the aforementioned. This band should have the recognition it deserves.

@the_crestfallen maybe my tought was mistaken =P. The fact is, I never said "the clone of After Forever", but the "new" After Forever, as they were between the few "sympho" bands who wanted to sound unique like nothing else. Now for now, Crysalys has a STRONG personality and they kill asses, but the risk is to become a "harder" version of Epica. They can do a lot better! They have done an impressive and SUPERB album, best album 2011 I've ever listen, but they CAN do better.
