LondonLouis I have some sympathy with danthemusicman. As musicians, they are brilliant, but a couple of hours listening to a succession of rather anodyne flower power lyrics tends to dull the mind (think what Dylan was doing with his lyrics at roughly the same era). It's only when you hit genuine blues tracks, like Crossroads, that one wakes up. Otherwise, it's best to just listen to the guitar licks - and they are genuinely good.

Next to say, the Beatles, the Stones, the Doors, the Dead, Floyd, Tull, Hendrix, Zeppelin, they are not in the same league imo. Yeah, Clapton was a great guitarist, and the singer had a great voice, and Ginger Baker was a great drummer, but many of the songs themselves are kinda boring except for those 3 I mentioned and maybe Tales of Brave Ulysses.
