Definitely seconding the recommendation to read La Bas. Darker than any of the lyrics in this album, but so Cradle: "He establishes sepulchral beauty contests, and whichever of the truncated heads receives the prize he raises by the hair and passionately kisses the cold lips."

@ancltsagaree1 But that's what makes up the great Symphonic Black Metal bands, am I not correct? Summoning, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Old Man's Child, it's all low budget keyboards but it's the sound that makes up the greatness of the album.

Great return to form! As for detailed crimes of Gilles De Rais, check out the novel "La Bas" by J. K. Huysmans. It's well worth reading!

The last half of the album is intense (minus the closing track). All the interlude tracks are the weakest the band has done though, but the real songs more than make up for it.

Finally opened it, and I think its good. Its definitely got that disgusting Thornographic stink of Nymphetamine, but it also has thrash-based, deep and solid tracks that pound you and also flow like old Cradle did. They left the nu-metal/groove stylings behind, and actually got some beautiful leads to give it some grace.

Their best since Midian, but could stand to be 10 minutes shorter.

I seriously am afraid to open this. Its the first I've purchased since Midian, and if its shit, then fuck symphonic metal in general!

Worth the purchase, the album being their best since...I dunno, DaaD? (Which I liked). Certainly sounds a bit like a more masculine version of Cruelty with some of their modern work influences - which is what the band described the album as. Surprisingly, it wasn't a bluff. Damn, good work guys. Hope they keep it up.
