Well... I'm bored as hell so I'll put up some albums/songs that I simply love.
I'll try not to be chaotic and put them up in alphabetical order (or not... if I'll lose the fight with my laziness).
(The list will be updated from time to time. Ofkoz)
A Perfect Circle -
eMOTIVe
Basically an album full of covers. I don't know all of the originals but they sound 'awfully' good here. Maynard's voice is always beautiful. ^^,
One of my favourites to listen when I'm laying late at night and having 'those very unhealthy thoughts' about everything and nothing.
A Perfect Circle -
Thirteenth Step
Original stuff-only on this one. But it sure sounds great. Starts off with a pretty heavy track The Package (and mainly stays heavy 'till the end), but there are some slower songs. Or just one... The nurse who loved me. <3 I didn't like it the first time I listened to it but after that it just... I don't know it feels nice and warm or something. ^^
Anathema -
A Natural Disaster
Art rock-ish like album for me. But really great. Melancholy and sad in some ways but some songs will just make You feel better. (Flying. <3)
Anathema -
Hindsight
It's not that I like only two albums for every band or something. xD Just a coincidence. ^^ Anyways. If You thought of something more beautiful than Anathema's songs... it's the same songs in acoustic versions. Probably one of the best albums I've ever heard. Really beautiful and peaceful. (Flying + acoustic = <33)
Andreas Scholl -
Flow, my tears
Well, this guy has a nice voice. Don't know what much can I say. This song is very pesimistic (No shit. The title doesn't say that at all! 0.o).
So... listen to this only if You want to cry or something. ; )
As I Lay Dying -
An Ocean Between Us
I can't say that this album is 'beautiful' or something but it sure is great for a good day or if You're pissed at someone and want to kick his/hers(?) ass. ; D
Chevelle -
One Last Visitor
While the whole album is some kind of heavy.. rock, this song is completely different. Very sad but it has that epic feeling in it.
I don't say that the album sucks, it's good of course, but this one is something different.
Clann Zú -
Black Coats and Bandages
Some might say that the vocals sucks in this one. But I just love them. Very original I have to say. Same with the music. Kinda proggy, sad and sometimes chaotic yet beautiful. Their first album
Rua is great too, but I haven't listened to it carefully yet.
Green Carnation -
The Acoustic Verses
This one... well, it can be called a masterpiece, really. Alongside with 'Hindsight' it claims the title of 'one of the best albums I've ever heard'.
Can't describe how beautiful it is. You just need to hear it.
In Flames -
Come Clarity
I don't know why but I just love this album. It just kicks Your ass if You let Your as be kicked... I don't know if that makes sense but it sounds neat. xD
Anyways, explosive intro, melancholy outro... Overall pretty heavy. And good. ^^
In Flames -
The Chosen Pessimist
The song has some sentimental meaning to me... It's really sad and while listening to it You'll just think 'Fuck... life sucks.' Well, not an original qoute, but real. ^^
Incubus -
Light Grenades
The whole album isn't 'my thing' but it contains some great songs. Can't say much more, rly. ^^' Oh, wait... I can... the cover cd really fucks with my eyes. >.<
Indukti -
S.U.S.A.R.
If You're into prog music and You haven't heard of Indukti... than You're not into prog music at all. This album just blows my mind away, chews it and leaves a hole in my head. There's a violin which is a good addition and with some great riffs it sounds pretty original.
Great music, great vocals (guest vocals on few songs by M. Duda from Riverside).
If You don't believe me, ckeck it out.
Isis -
Oceanic
Sludge metal at its finest. If You don't like the whole thing just listen to 'From sinking' and You'll definitely sink in those sounds. Epic stuff.
Katatonia -
The Great Cold Distance
Haven't heard anything from those guys before 'TGCD' but just after the first listening to the album I just fell in love with it. Kinda depressive feeling in some songs but overall heavy.
Katatonia -
Omerta
Well I could add the whole album here... But this song makes me forget about the rest of it. Brilliant, melancholy yet kinda heavy. And the ending is just epic. It feels like the song dies... You know, it plays than in one second it dies. Epic.
Kow Otani -
Shadow of the Colossus ~Roar of the Earth~ Original Soundtrack
If You want to ask if that's a soundtrack from SOTC (a game for the ps2), than yes it is. ('No shit, dudeeee. 0.0') Fuck me, IT IS EPIC IN EVERY WAY. Some parts are slow and sad but some songs are fast and aggressive. Epic, epic, epic!
Lunatic Soul -
Lunatic Soul
You could just stare at the cover cd and already say that this album is epic. xD
The voice of Riverside... Nothing more to say, I think. Pretty 'progish'. And of course beautiful.
Marillion -
Marbles by the Sea
Great album. And it's a live version. If You had ever seen Marillion live (I only YouTube'd them. T.T), then You'll know that You want this stuff sooooo baaad. ; )
Mastodon -
Remission
Mastodon -
Leviathan
Mastodon -
The Wolf Is Loose
Gotta love those covers. *.*
Don't know what to say... The music's great, everything is perfect here. The vocals are pretty nasty, but great anyways. ^^ Kinda sludgy but... I don't know, You just can't not love those guys.
Metallica -
S&M
Most of the people hate this album but it's something different. IMO something better than they were. I'm not saying that I don't like their previous work. This one is a big step forward. And 'No Leaf Clover' kicks some major ass.
Mogwai -
Young Team
Since this year I never heard of Mogwai. Now I ask myself 'Why? How?!'. Pretty dumb questions, I know. But damn, how could I never hear of those... 'monsters' ; D
I can't really describe what is on this CD... It's slow, most of the time, but sometimes it explodes and that's the time You'll say 'Fuck, what's going on? 0.0'
It kinda happened to me while I listened to them at night, trying to fell asleep... Just listen to 'Like Herod' and You'll know what I'm talking 'bout. : D
Moloko -
Things to Make and Do
Moloko -
Statues
I heard 'The Time Is Now' few months ago and I thought 'Where did I heard that?' Well, my aunt loved Moloko so I listened to their albums and I just couldn't stop listening to them. Some songs are really fun and catchy and some are really sad.
And Róisin's voice is just beautiful.
Muse -
Origin Of Symmetry
Muse -
Absolution
Muse -
Black Holes and Revelations
Bellamy... He's got a strange surname, doesn't he?
Joke ofkos. I really love this guy. No, I'm not gay, but I love him. ^^
He's got a great voice, he plays great and not only the guitar. He kicks asses on pianooo. <3 The band is just great. Nothing more to say.
Neurosis -
Given to the Rising
First of all... lol @ the cover. xD Never seen it before.
And now to the album. It's some of the sludgest sludge that I know (I know nothing, but that doesn't matter, rly).
It's depressive as fuck and kinda creepy, but right after my first listening to the album I loved that stuff. It's not always that I love things that are depressive and creepy at the same time, really. ^^'
More to come.
