There's few albums that make me think YEAH, I bought some fine new music last year, but Gueen's Head is still and definitely one of them. I recently heard the Lil Fighters' Thunder & Lightning - how C&E improved it! It used to be nicely montonously solemn and all that, but in their version it's like gold melting into the sea.
On the risk of talking only to myself here, I don't think I've heard anything so beautiful, so old-fashionedly vivid all year. Thunder & Lightning, New Years and Island Song are my favourites to just picture slow seashore trainrides to, and the rest is for lying shivering in an old wooden house at the end of the track, in optimistic sadness, if that makes sense.
