  • 50 Questions About My Top 50

    30 jan. 2014, 2h21m par Maagikki

I'm in that mood again where I really want to write about music. So without further ado, let me present 50 questions about my top 50 for no one whatsoever to read!

    1. How did you get into 29?
    Minor Threat
Gonna just come out and say: I don't remember. Probably somewhere around the time I decided to quit the "gateway drug" that was the 90s bastardized bubblegum punk. Minor Threat was naturally one of the first bands I'd check out.

    2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
    Misfits
Hmmmm... Pretty sure it was Dust to Dust. One of my favorite Misfits songs until this very day, mind you.

    3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33?
    Star Fucking Hipsters
"Don't dream, the day is done,
    Apocalyptic, rising sun,
In this, our made up bed,
Our ashen corpses, dreams are dead!" - Dreams are Dead
I just find that verse so cathartic.

    4. What is your favorite album by 49?
    The Pillows
Aaaahhhh... This just HAD to land on a band with a load of amazing songs spread…

  • Top 15 of 2009! (and honorable mentions + disappointments)

    20 jui. 2010, 5h52m par trsmecp

This was a MUCH better year than 2008 for music. I was going to make a top 10 list like last year, but I came across so many great albums this year, and enough that held such significance to me that I am actually willing to make a top 15 list (and take until July 20, 2010 to put this up). There’s also plenty more honorable mentions from last year and more disappointments. There were a LOT of releases I had interest in ’09. I remember struggling initially to come up with 10 in ’08, but I got to 10 rapidly this time around. A lot of my top albums this year are punk albums, this is not going to be the case in 2010 for sure (none so far). Anyways, let’s begin…

Top 15 of 2009: (play count as of July 21, 2010)

    1. Propagandhi - Supporting Caste (480 plays)

  • 50 Questions About My Top 50 (As of 12-14-09)

    15 déc. 2009, 4h42m par PxUnit

Decided to find one with 50 questions this year instead of 40 since that really makes more sense. I'll be using this one from now on. Hurrah.
This year, I've discovered more artists and have been listening to music via Last.fm a lot more.
Also I'll say how many artists I have in my library each year from now on, to see how many artists I've started listening to. I'm not going to day play counts because I just don't feel like it.
    Total number of artists: 776

    1. How did you get into 29?
    Coheed and Cambria
Uhmmm I dunno really. I knew about The Suffering for a long time and I had it on my iPod but it took me a while to actually start listening to their other songs. I probably started to because some of my friends really liked them

    2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
    Bayside
I really don't know... Hah. Maybe something off of the S/T.

    3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33?
    The Postal Service
Pretty much the entire song of Clark Gable. :]
