I just noticed if you order at Insound, "Bells & Whistles" has 3 bonus tracks. So if you don't have the CD yet, you might as well get it there. The tracks are pretty solid and not "leftover" quality. Loving them very much right now.
Saw the show - Chase is amazing - but his set was too short and I scratch my head wondering why he is the opening act, why such a short set?? I'd really like to see him as the headliner - Wanted to stay for Bear Colony but the hour was too late (Hey - it is Wednesday and people have to work) and I couldn't stand staying around while O Brother was playing - just too loud for loudness sake - so I don't know if Chase played with Bear Colony or not ...
Chase came in my Music Department today at Barnes & Noble in Rogers, AR and was pleased I had his new album as a Staff Recommendation. He told me he and Bear Colony and others would be playing a show at George's in Fayetteville, AR on October 14 - Should be an excellent event!
I loved him for a little while, but after going through an entire album I get tired. His vocals would be so much better if he wasn't loudly gasping constantly. The vocals are over the top, which can be good if done properly, but sometimes I just want him to calm down and be more pleasant. He has talent, though, and the instrumentation is so lovely and cabaret-like. I'll still listen to a select few of his songs, and follow another release in hopes I'll like it more.
