Children of Bodom's followup album to 2005's Are You Dead Yet took a more thrashier approach than previous releases from the band. Nevertheless the album still manages to pack together a decent bunch of songs from the group whilst still maintaining to show off their technical prowess. It fails to have the kick of previous albums and few songs here will become live staples but it's still worth a listen.

All Hope Is Gone
All Hope Is Gone is rumoured to be the last album from this Iowan nine piece and after listening to this album it looks like they won't be missed much from me anymore. Whilst the album has an absolute blinder in the form of lead single 'Psychosocial' and another decent followup single 'Dead Memories' the rest of the album just seems like a set of filler tracks. As much as I hate to compare the band with Corey Taylor's alter ego Stone Sour…
5 jan. 2009, 21h13m par x__LemonThis was a hard one - mainly because I forgot which albums had been released this past year, and had to consult Windows Media Player on this - but also 'cause what was released was pretty good. So, here goes...
5. Does It Offend You, Yeah? - You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into
I'm not usually into this style of music, but this album really stood out to me. There's some really strong tracks on the album (We Are Rockstars, Dawn Of The Dead) - songs that get stuck in your head and can't get out again...
4. Pendulum - In Silico
I feel this needs a mention - it was brilliant, really brilliant. I actually prefer this to Hold Your Colour, despite loving that album too. Despite there being some tracks I always hit the skip button on, there were enough good ones to fill the gaps. Special mentions to The Other Side and The Tempest. Brilliant ending song.
3. Bullet for My Valentine - Scream Aim Fire
Took a while to get into this one, but I managed it in the end. …

Top 10 Artist
10. Rivers Cuomo
Around the end of last year the lead singer of Weezer Rivers Cuomo released an album of some of his home recordings. It wasn't the greatest album, but it was good background music while I played WoW. And thats why Rivers Cuomo comes in at number 10.
9. Dane Cook
I'm a little ashamed of this one, but I find Dane Cook funny. I think around March of the past year I decided that I was going to listen to all of his albums from start to finish on my computer. As we all know comedy albums have a lot of really short tracks. That is the reason why Dane Cook comes in at number 9.
One of my favorite bands of all time. A lot of people give me grief about this because of Rod Stewart is the lead singer, but this is blues rock at its purest. Stewart has a the prefect blues voice and Ron Woods's guitar is gritty. …

23 jan.
Do najmocniejszych punktów tej płyty należą: "Waking the Demon" - z bardzo chwytliwym refrenem, "Disappear" - kompozycja tego utworu mnie powaliła na kolana, i "Take It Out On Me" oraz "Say Goodnight". …
