BORN OF OSIRIS is a Chicago, Illinois Metalcore band forged during 2007. Previously the members had operated as DIMINISHED, between 2003 and 2004, YOURHEARTENGRAVED, between 2004 and 2006, and ROSECRANCE, titled after an Illinois mental institution, leading up to 2007. Legal objections forced the final change in name. A demo of the song ‘Narnia’ (later evolving into ‘The Take Over’) secured a contract with Sumerian Records. Michael Keene produced the October 2007 debut album ‘The New Reign’. Touring across the USA in February 2009 had the group partnered with DARKEST HOUR, DEAD AND DIVINE and ARISE AND RUIN. The ‘Summer Slaughter’ US festival tour commencing in June 2009 witnessed a package comprising co-headliners NECROPHAGIST and SUFFOCATION backed by ENSIFERUM, DARKEST HOUR, WINDS OF PLAGUE, DYING FETUS, BORN OF OSIRIS, ORIGIN, BENEATH THE MASSACRE, AFTER THE BURIAL, DECREPIT BIRTH and BLACKGUARD. BORN OF OSIRIS released its new album, ‘A Higher Place’, in June 2009 to coincide with the band’s second appearance on the ‘Summer Slaughter’ tour. The album was recorded at Planet Z in in Hadley, Massachusetts with producer Chris « Zeuss » Harris.

Great techmetal band. The new album has less core and more progressiveness to it. Love both albums to bits, though. Seeing Animals As Leaders, VoM, and BTBAM tonight... can't wait!
