Album Review – Balance of Power (1991) – 6/10
Here’s a funny straw that was pulled out of the scene in the late to early 90’s during the slow slump of decay for the old thrash sound and more to groove orientated signatures. This, however, stands the test of time with a highly thought out, well written piece of thrash here. The Balance of Power sets a drive and a standard which should be taken by all bands. There is a level of seriousness but it is also taken back by odd influences within the songs. However, original could be a lost word to these guys. It almost exactly sounds the same as Hydra Vein except the vocals which are more nwobhm edging crossover style like Brainless or Blood Money. Overall, therefore, this album holds well and can be put into a ‘fair’ pile but probably will just get left at the bottom of your cd box.
