Bigbang is a Norwegian rock band led by frontman Øystein Greni.
Bigbang play retro-rock, in ’70s style, but also acoustic folk ballads such as Chocolate Factory or Old People, all sung in English.
The album Clouds Rolling By from 2000 was the beginning of their commercial success, thanks to the hit Girl In Oslo, released in many compilations by that time.
Øystein’s father, Thor S. Greni was performer in the Undertakers Circus 1960/70s soul band. The songs were sung in Norwegian except two Curtis Mayfield covers included in the debut album.
Young Greni grew up with the intimate conviction that » was born to do that », he was influenced not only by his own father’s work but also by other 60/70s Norwegian bands as well as British and American artists like The Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Cream and The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd or Eric Clapton’s Blind Faith cult band. As a skateboarder he was into Punk rock energetic music like The Jam, Dinosaur Jr. or Hüsker Dü and American 80s alternative, like the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Tom Petty. He was also into Bob Dylan and Neil Young’s folk-rock though, hence a sounding resemblance with acts such as Pearl Jam (To the Mountains) or R.E.M. (Spiritual Heart Surgery).

Last.fm takes ages to change things. I just don't see why we're the ones that have to change the name, instead of the fans of the Norwegian group. It's not that hard to just accept the fact that there are two artists that happen to have the same name. I'll live with the occasional picture of a random Norwegian group in my quilt and I'm sure most fans of the Norwegian BB won't die from some random Koreans. It's just the stubborn people constantly changing the wiki and claiming the Korean group name is spelled wrongly that annoy me to no end.

Once again, like I already said months ago: Both bands have their band name _without_ any space between the words Big/BIG and Bang/BANG (Norwegian: BigBang Korean: BIGBANG)... But for you guys listening to the Korean band, you can use BIG BANG-tag until the Last.fm Crew is doing something concrete about this "bands with the same name"-issue.. :) (Remember; on a tag where there's more than one band sharing the same name, all bands have right to have pictures uploaded and be mentioned in the wiki)

[2] and to Radical_RAD: Their band name is officially "BIGBANG" in both South Korea and Japan, but here on Last.fm we use BIG BANG-tag instead because not to bother fans for the Norwegian band.

For the Korean Big Bang: It's BIGBANG for the Japanese stuff and BIG BANG for their Korean stuff. I just use the Korean stuff to avoid things such as this.

Noe så sløvt. Når man skal velge et bandnavn tar det ca 30 sekunder på google for å finne ut om det er noen andre som heter det, men da må man jo både tenke og trykke på et tastatur samtidig, og DET er kanskje litt mye forlangt. Stem ned bildene av de ekle koreanerne!

Well spelling on merch and such really doesn't matter much... logo makers and graphical artists generally take liberties on spelling to achieve a certain look.

I've scrobbled them under the wrong name long enough. @xclaimation: Their official name is BIGBANG. Now lets see if we can get 할렐루야 in those top tracks.
