Biographie :
Groupe originaire de Suède formé par Anders Hagström et Yasmine Uhlin depuis 2005, jouant une électropop variée et assez efficace. Leurs influences sont diverse (Depeche Mode, DAF, Nitzer Ebb, Covenant, VNV Nation, Happy Mondays, Berlin, John Foxx, Ultravox, Björk, Fischerspooner, Tiga, Daft punk, New Order, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, The Cure, Ladytron, Goldfrapp, Primal Scream, Tears For Fears, Sisters of Mercy, David Bowie, Soft Cell, Marc Almond, The Human League. …) ce qui se retrouve dans leur musique.
En Avril 2006, le single « Cry havoc » sort et rentre dans les « Charts », c’est la première collaboration entre les Ashbury et John Fryer, qui voudra par la suite mixer le premier album « Three cheers for the newlydeads », sorti en 2007.
En 2008, sort l’album « Morningstar in A Black Car ». Le 3ème album de Ashbury Heights. En fin d’année Yasmine Uhlin quitte le groupe et est remplacée par Kari Berg.

The titles on the backside of the album cover are all written in smallcaps, so it can't be said which letters "should" be captitals or not. However, there is also a four-track promo release of the album, and there Smaller is indeed spelled as "SmAlLer" (http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=1659888). Though I have to admit I just tagged it as "Smaller", for the same reasons mentioned below by ayuxx :)

To stay consistent with the fact that none of the rest of their songs have odd capitalizations (like you might see with Japanese bands/artists in particular), I just tag it as "Smaller". "SmAlLer" kind of looks like "smailer". Haha

Love Ashbury Heights. Too bad Yasmine dropped out. She had that neat melancholic touch to her singing. Let's hope Kari does even better though. Can't wait for the new album. :)
