[Note: Copying & pasting the comment I left on AT's track "#19." Changing "fans" to "phans" just to be hilarious n' clever.] This was released with the title "#19" on the 1994 compilation Excursions In Ambience: The Third Dimension. All these years, I wrongly thought it was exclusive to that compilation, but today I found out that the number 19 refers to its position on Selected Ambient Works Volume II. It is on the double LP and double cassette versions, but was left off of the (single) CD due to time constraints. It's untitled, but phans have dubbed it "Stone In Focus," so that's the name it's best known known by. Anyway, one of the chillest chill-out trax ever; massively indebted to Steve Roach, though.

This track transcends time, literally puts me back 5 years earlier to when I first listened to it.

I think this transcends a "song" and is more of an "auditory art" -- my mind doesn't know where to land between the conflictive unnerving ticking and the soothing chords.

Oh, one more similar/complimentary track: Midnight Souls Still Remain by M83 on Saturday's Youth

You know this would also be great being book-ended by some Ulrich Schnauss

Echoing the Stars of the Lid and BOC similarities, no who copied who here, just similar sounds which are awesome! Transition from this into Wachumas Wave by Steve Roach, good stuff

You can't say that Aphex Twin "sounds like" any band. AT were in the forefront of creating modern ambient / electronica.
