Exploring the world of sounds through various sources of media, Anyma crosses too many musical barriers to be defined simply. Ranging from sensual ambient up to ethno-tribal, the resulting music is both unique and irresistible.
Ghislain Caya
was born in 1966 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He grew up listening to many varied artists ranging from rock, up to new wave bands. He studied 3 years in music. With a classical music and guitar background, Ghislain started very early to compose music and performing in various shows.
During his early years (1980’s), he was amazed by the versatility of synthesisers for music composition and quickly transferred his classical music knowledge into a personal research for electronic music… In college, he participated to the « Cegep en spectacles », and the « Rock Releve CHOM-FM » contests.
In 1991, destiny brought him into the circle of AMALGAME with Chrystian Bourassa and Yannick Belanger. One of the rare French Canadian electronic group. With Amalgame, he performed in many shows and contests like « L’Empire des Future Stars BUD CKOI-FM », ‘’Energy Black Label CKMF-FM’‘, ‘’The 1993 Muscular Dystrophy Canada Telethon’’ TV show, a radio interview at CISM-FM and many other events in Quebec. In 1993, they been involved in a recording of a promotional CD compilation ‘’Demo de luxe #3’’ which was distributed in 500 community radio stations through Canada, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.
