"you are my favourite thing in the world" is probably one of my top 5 favourite lines i like to use on pretty girls i just met when they do something marginally cute/adorable.

with that said, some new stuff -- disc 1 is primarily hip hop/turntablism/glitch, and disc 2 is bass-heavy trip hop, smokey lounge, and a little pop.

Annakin - Torch Songs [Review in German]

Wenn die Zeit des Wartens auf ein Album sehr lange ausfällt, schleicht sich unwillkürlich die Annahme ein, die Dauer bis zum nächsten Release sei wohl von ähnlichem Ausmass – zumindest bei Annakins Zweitling „Torch Songs“ erweist sich diese Heuristik als falsch. Liess sich Ann Kathrin Lüthi für ihr Solo-Debüt nach dem Hinscheiden von Swandive sieben Jahre Zeit, so kündigt sich nun keine zwei Lenze später die Fortsetzung an.

Man merkt dem neuen Album an, dass es unter vielfältigen Einflüssen entstanden ist, so als ob man sich nach einem ersten geglückten Experiment entschieden hätte, die Arbeit bestärkt fortzusetzen und – mit Matthias Kräutli (My Name Is George / Drums, Stimme) und Adrian Weyermann (Gitarre, Stimme) – auch zusätzliche analoge Einflussvariablen zuzulassen.

Der Kern und das für den Zuhörer markanteste Element bleibt sicher Ann Kathrin Lüthis unverkennbare Stimme…

Wie schon immer findet ihr viele Infos zu Schweizer und internationalen Künstlern aus dem Genre - von Annakin und Archive über Portishead und Massive Attack bis hin zu Digitalism und Murcof; es gibt News, die ihr jetzt kommentieren und abonnieren könnt, eine Agenda mit RSS-Feed, wie immer Plattenkritiken und Konzertberichte, einen neuen Player mit CH-Bands wie Division Kent, Morphologue, Asphalt Jungle und vielen mehr.
