I especially love the latter half of this album, the organic sounding DNB is absolutely incredible

Bizarrely, I only began treating my ears to this record – and Amon Tobin in general – around a month ago. This is peculiar because Tobin’s music proffers everything I’ve ever wanted: a reason not to get up to replace the Aphex Twin/Squarepusher record spinning on the turntable for one by Miles Davis or Ornette Coleman. This reason is that their spirit and vitality is united here in one album; that record is called Bricolage, and it may well be the finest I’ve ever heard. I’ll come back on that one once I’ve had time to tire of it. Most of his other records appear to be almost as fantastic too.

Fantastic album. Given the saxophone revival, this is the standard in which to judge.

A bit long, but still one of the better pieces of nu-jazz I've heard. Makes me sleepy.

well, I know everyone has his own taste, but I do think that Supermodified is surely much overrated than Bricolage (but they're both great albums anyway :))

for YOU Supermodified is "overrated". Not for me. Both albums are highly inspiring (for me, just to make sure no one thinks I try speak for everyone).

@ImmortalPride : overrated my ass - Supermodified IS overrated - it has 2-3 really good tracks and it's hailed as his best by many

After listening to Amon Tobin for a few years, I've found a lot of his music hard to listen to a lot of the time (atleast for me). I'm a very beat-driven music listener, and a lot of his works don't necessarily have a prominent beat. That being said, I love dnb music. This album is the complete package. Amon Tobin has a style unlike no other. This album never gets old.
