Bought tickets for the Sigur Ros gig in October today. The show sold out in 15 minutes or so. I'm quite surprised actually, I had no idea that they're that popular in Finland. I suppose Kulttuuritalo is a pretty small venue, but anyways. I'm really looking forward to the show.

Saw Medeia and Amok on Vastavirta yesterday. Medeia did a good gig. And then there was Amok.. *trr* *trr* *ktktktktktktktkt*.. Though the band's musicanship was apparently excellent at least, I can't say I liked them. The music got somewhat buried under the showcasing of their skills. Their blend of grindcore, death metal and some progressive elements was very hard to grasp at first listening, too.

I love the way Pink Floyd-albums flow from track to track like chapters in a book or scenes in a movie. It seems that in addition to Led Zeppelin and King Crimson, The Mars Volta have been almost equally influenced with Floyd's synth soundscapes and atmosphere
