I answered someone's question on the Godsmack page about what exactly the similarities between Godsmack and Alice in Chains are, but the post got deleted along with a few of my other posts because some fool reported my "trolling" to a mod after they got all butthurt when I copypastad.

Anyway, this journal is just to outline some of the similarities, so you can use it as a reference point whenever some Godsmack fanboy shouts "HEY THEY DON'T SOUND SIMILAR AT ALL WTF YOU TALKIN' BOUT? GET OUTTA MAH WAY BITCH!!!"

Similarities include:-

*Godsmack obtained their name from the Alice in Chains song "God Smack" off the album Dirt. Although the band would later deny this, it's glaringly obvious where it came from.

*Godsmack frontman Sully Erna stated that Layne Staley (AiC frontman) "was single-handedly the guy that got me to start singing." This is another obvious similarity. Erna's style of singing closely mirrors Staley's style; Erna obviously has a deeper voice…
