Un año más, con la llegada del verano, llegaron también los festivales. Un año más, SONISPHERE llegaba a Getafe, aunque este año lo hacía en una fecha más tempranera que de costumbre. El adelanto con respecto a otros años, si bien hizo coincidir el festival con fechas de exámenes universitarios, consiguió su objetivo: que las temperaturas no fueran tan elevadas cómo en ediciones anteriores. Aunque, cómo es normal, hizo calor (y mucho) durante las primeras actuaciones del festival. La edición de 2012 de este gran evento nos presentaba un cartel con veintiséis bandas, encabezadas por nombres como Metallica, Soundgarden o Slayer. Veintiséis bandas, un número bastante razonable para tener un cartel completo, pero sin sobrecargar el día de actuaciones. Un número de bandas que, según bastantes opiniones, hubiera permitido plantear los horarios de forma que no se solaparan actuaciones…

The artists that continue to inspire me as I kiss away the emptiness of youth and enter adulthood. I'll always be young at heart, mind! Here they are in chronological order of when I started listening to them:

Special mentions: Evanescence, Nirvana, Linkin Park, Incubus, A Perfect Circle and all the other artists in my library. Also integral props to 植松伸夫 (Final Fantasy composer) for creating music literally beyond words--that no youth should be without! It's what inspired me to play my first musical instrument: keyboard/piano.
