Подведём итоги, что больше всего играло у меня осенью.

1. Demon Hunter - сильнейший христианский метал. Готовят альбом к следующему году в обновлённом составе. Это зачастую настораживает, но в этой группе я не сомневаюсь. Думаю, фронтмен будет держать всё в своих руках.
2. Yiruma - корейский исполнитель. С него я начал слушать пиано музыку. Особенно хорошо идёт во время сна или после работы. Видать потому он у меня так высоко в этом сезоне.
3. ТОЛ - это тот случай, когда порой чувствуешь, что хочешь наложить на себя руки. Но опомнившись решаешь: "Нет! Пока я не услышу новый альбом группы, я не сдохну!" Столько души, смысла, грусти, злости и особенно ненависти в этой музыке. Я в восторге от них уже 2 года. Мои антидепрессанты, мои успокоительные, мои освободители. Вроде работают над альбомом. Надеюсь не придётся очень долго ждать.
4. 7раса - порадовали новым синглом "Солнце взойдёт". Очень красивая вещь. Некоторые считали, что на альбоме "Coda" группа сдулась (хотя я так никогда не считал). Теперь, однако, многие вернулись к позитивному мнению, что у группы ещё всё впереди. Долгое время своей музыкой они цепляют самую глубину души.
5. KoЯn - долгожители моего плейлиста. Как влюбился в их стиль с первого взгляда, так до сих пор они у меня на высоте. Хоть мне и не нравятся последние два альбома, старые не будут забыты ещё долго.
6. 坂本龍一 - я слушаю всего одну работу исполнителя. Самую новую, этого года, японский релиз на двух дисках, игра на пианино. Читал, что у этого человека музыка в разных стилях, хотя пока что не стремлюсь позновать её. Хватает новинки.
7. Sybreed - порадовали новым альбомом "The Pulse of Awakening". Наикрутейшая вещь! Не сомневался в группе и получил как раз то, чего ожидал. Третий и пока что самый лучший альбом этой индастриально-метально-фиг-знает-какого-ещё-стиля банды!
8. Cocotte Minute - для меня открытие на сцене Европы этой осенью. Чешский Ню Метал в лучших традициях и ещё на их родном языке! Очень интересный и внешний вид у ребят. Альбом этого года самый лучший.
9. Destrophy - наконец-то выпустили новый альбом! Новый? Да там всего 4 новые песни! Все остальные - это переписаные старые. Не особо интересно, хотя новые на столько хороши, что группа выскакивает в топ на этот сезон.
10. Rootwater - второй сезон слушаю этих офигенных поляков, их альбом "Visionism".
11. Flymore - выпустили дебютник! Не буду оригинальным и скажу, что эта группа действительно похожа на KoЯn. Ещё лучше, что она таааак похожа (боюсь слова на букву "к...")! Вокал идентичен Джонатану Дэвису. И музыка в лучшем звучании Ню Метала. Но я горжусь, что появилась в России такая качественная команда. Всем дала фору! И автоматически стала одной из моих любимых.
12. Ругер - в декабре презентация нового макси-сингла. Для группы это первый опыт, т.к. до этого они строго выстрагивали альбомы без всяких допонений. Моя подостывшая любовь должна растопиться с выходом новинки.
13. Tom Waits - отцовский исполнитель! Недавно выпустил лайв компиляцию, которую я даже слушать не собираюсь. Для меня мистер Уэйтс - это первые 4 альбома + период альбомов "Alice" и "Blood Money".
14. БеZумные Усилия - можно считать, что с этой группой я почти с самого начала. Услышав ещё в древнем году их доальбомную версию песни на одном сборнике русской альтернативы. Позже я тащился от каждого альбома, свободно могу проследить за их развитием. Сейчас команда готовит пятый по счёту альбом. И я рад, что со временем они не тянут и что творческая сила не угасает.
15. GREENPILLS - слушаю группу с дебютного альбома с 2007 года. Этой осенью вышел третий. Радует, что группа развивается, становится техничнее и интереснее с каждым релизом. К тому же это по-моему единственная русская группа, которая пела по-французски на первых демках. Идея оригинальная, но позже от неё отказались.
16. American Head Charge - всё ещё трудно поверить, что одна из любимых команд распалась. Всё из-за вокалиста, который пропал без вести. Участники группы делились, что Мартин Кок (Камерон Хикок) в последнее время ленился заниматься делом. Музыка была готова, оставалось написать вокальные партии. Вроде бы вокалист в это время опять ударился в наркотики, а позже вообще пропал из виду, что даже родная мать не имеет понятия о его месте нахождения. Снаркоманился и сдох в какой канаве? Или убежал от прошлого и начал жизнь заново? Вопросы остаются открытыми, но талант и один из самых офигенных вокалов в Ню Метале погибли. Сейчас группа в поисках нового вокала, но с ним это будет уже другое, так что и название изменится.
17. Deftones - одна из величайших групп в Ню Метале США для меня. Ребята готовили материал для альбома, но несчастье приключилось с бассистом группы. Поэтому выпуск альбома отодвинули на дальний срок. Так же ходят слухи, что группа записывает другой материал в неполном составе и выпустит его, как... А фиг знает! Будет ли это считаться полноценным альбомом, трибьютом потерпевшему аварию участнику группы или ещё чем? Посмотрим.
18. D.TOX - отличная украинская группа! На мой вкус, вторая после ТОЛ в Украине. Хотелось бы только, чтоб забабахали полноценный альбом скорее. И чтоб группу узнало больше слушателей.
19. Spatorna - хоть и прекратили существование давно, всё равно не покидают мой плейлист. Одна из лучших и оригинальных групп в России. Ни одной похожей в мире даже назвать не могу, таких просто нет. Вроде бы перед распадом говорилось, что работают над акустической программой. После распада говорили, что вокалист забацал новую группу и ждите новостей. На этом всё... Да и так это давно было, видать и не сбудется. Мечта моя, чтоб Spatorna опять залабали вместе, как по старинке.
20. Shattermask - открыл для себя группу этой осенью. Какой дикий у них вокалист, а как читает мощно! Но, как по мне, группа одного хита. Есть вещи неплохие, но всё же песня "A.K." стоит выше всех других.
21. Skindred - выпустили альбом после не маленькой паузы. Вообще я группу давно не слушал, хороших 3-4 года, а новый релиз вернул меня к ним. Хороший, качёвый, качественный.
22. Skrape - старая и давно не существующая Ню Метал команда. Любимый репертуар для меня. И всем любителям начала Ню Метала начала 2000 годов - эта банда обязательна для прослушивания.
23. Nothingface - которая по счёту эта распавшаяся Ню Метал группа в моём списке? Кажется в основе из таких команд и состоит мой плейлист этой осенью. Что поделать... Отличные группы распадаются, оставив за собой отличную музыку.
24. Michael Giacchino - всё продолжаю рубиться по саундтреку к одной из любимых игр детства на приставке Playstation - Medal of Honor. Музыка вызывает ностальгические чувства. Да, это единственная оркестровая музыка, которую слушаю на данный момент.
25. Deform - самая экстравагантая по внешнему виду группа на российской сцене. И музыка хорошая. И вокалист своей идеологией заинересовал. Есть о чём подумать, с чем поспорить. Хотел бы я, чтоб Деформатор выпустил свою книгу, которую так давно обещали.
26. Alice in Chains - последний релиз группы состоялся в 1996 году. После смерти от передоза наркотиками вокалиста Лейна Стейли в 2002 году, стало понятно, что ничего больше не выйдет. Но мы были не правы. Спустя семь лет, группа возвращается с новым альбомом в исполнении с новым вокалистом. Первая мысль была: "Как можно заменить лицо группы другим и бесстыдно оставить так старое название себе?" Мне казалось, что с фронтменом афроамериканцем всё будет иначе, ведь у них и голоса другие. Какое было моё удивление, когда я услышал новый альбом! Это тот самый AiC, только более новый и качественный. Даже вокал не подкачал. Редкий вокал для афроамериканца, похож на покойного Лейна. Альбом мне напомнил о прошлом и одновременно порадовал новым. Это тяжело объяснить, когда чувства такие мешаные, зато все положительные.
27. Digimortal - не так давно порадовали новым синглом "Порох". Очень даже... В недалёком будущем выйдет третий альбом, и я верю, что это будет лучший на данный момент релиз группы. Слушаю их ещё с первых демо записей. Поэтому слежу внимательно за развитием.
28. E-SEX-T - порадовали новым альбомом "Рассуди, обдумай, взвесь". Неплохой альбом вцелом, но я хочу выделить один хит - "Искры зависти" дуэетом с Ромой Шумом из БеZумных Усилий.
29. Straight Line Stitch - прикольная группа с орущим женским вокалом. Открыл для себя этой осенью.
30. Агава - жаль, что распались после дебютного альбома 2007 года. Я был готов следить за группой и дальше, а тут такой провал... Поговаривают, что вокалист набрал новый состав, хотя никаких конкретных заявлений не было. Музыка напоминает прошлое. Особенно школьную скамью. Любил в наушниках на уроках погонять диск.
31. SOiL - выпустили новый альбом "Picture Perfect". В основном гонял я его на работе в наушниках. Дома он лично мне не так слушается. Если бы можно было добавить прослушивания с плеера, то группа точно попала бы в десятку за осень.
32. Сергей Маховиков - актёр, режиссёр, музыкант, и просто отличный человек (наверное, лично не знаком)! Хорошие авторские песни для души и отдыха. Под пиво особо катит, кстати.
33. Рядом С Птицей - хорошая группа. Слушаю где-то с 2005 или 2006 года. Дебютник из 8 песен выпустили только в прошлом году. Меееедленно работа шла, не хорошо. Хотя я очень рад этому релизу. Есть в их музыке та мной любимая грусть, жесть, злость. Коктейль чувств, короче.
34. Slipknot - кто не знает эту группу, тому указываю дорогу прямо в библиотеку Ню Метала для особо одарённых. Больше и сказать нечего.
35. Textures - очень зацепила песня "Awake". Просто магия какая-то. Сколько переслушивал, ничего более крутого в группе не нашёл.
36. Вася Васин - вот это весёлый человек, лицо группы Кирпичи! Выпустил свой огромный сольный альбом из двух дисков. Один рэп, другой рок или что-то типа того. Нравится мне он. Под особенное настроение, конечно.
37. Amnezia - ходили слухи, что группа распалась. Сейчас говорят, что вроде бы вместе опять собрались. Это радует. Нефиг талант пробазаривать. У группы один албьом в 2006 году. Музыка доведённая до ума, качество на высоте. Услышав, некоторые не сразу верили, что это русская группа.
38. Emphatic - неплохое открытие в этом сезоне, понравился сингл "Goodbye Girl". Вроде бы альбом собирались писать. Посмотрим...
39. Доступ Закрыт - когда-то одна из самых любимых групп в Ню Метале. Много сравнений было с KoЯn, но я ярый противник этого мнения. Доступы своеобразны, только флегмируют с альбомом. Вроде с 2005 всё обещают, обещают... Zzz...
40. Akira Yamaoka - прославился музыкой к серии игр Silent Hill. То и слушаем. Сейчас вышел новый "Silent Hill Shattered Memories".
41. Abrupt Edge - выпустили новый альбом "Goodbye Till Then". Сказать, что вещь хорошая - это ничего не сказать. Лучший Альт.Рок в этом году для меня! Отлично дополняет мою коллекцию альтернативы.
42. Apartment 26 - классная группа в стиле индастриал рок или что-то типа того. Открыл их для себя вроде бы зимой этого года, а надо было открыть ещё лет 5 назад. Сейчас старые записи уже не так слушаются, а нового ничего уже не выпустят. Группы давно нет.
43. Evil Not Alone - порадовали новым альбомом "Последний импульс умирающей жизни". Одноимённая альбому песня застряла в голове надолго.
44. 16Volt - выпустили в этом году альбом под названием "American Porn Songs". Достойный индастриал.
45. Игорь Тальков - великий человек был. Тут и говорить больше ничего не надо. Его музыка не будет забыта.
46. Fear Factory - официально заявили, что в 2010 выпускают альбом! И что он будет в старом стиле. На пробу скинули одну песню, которая поддерживает уверенность во мне, что этот альбом будет бомба!
47. Motograter - группа ожила! Странно говорить об этом, когда из старого состава только Мотогратер остался. Я уверен, что новый альбом будет совсем не то, что было в 2003 году, но всё же не могу дождаться.
48. Melted - такая жгучая группа! В топах уже второй сезон. История, как и в большинстве случаев у меня, повторяется: 1) Ню Метал, 2) уже не существует.
49. Neyro - хорошая русская Ню Метал группа, от которой больно долго нет никаких новостей. Неужели тоже?...
50. Ektomorf - последнее место в моём ограниченом топе достаётся венгерским металистам. Всё ещё прёт их альбом этого года, который увидел свет, кажется, весной. Может быть в конце зимы, не помнюю. Ну да фиг с ним!

Imagine smooth, subtle, seamless transitions from jazz influenced chord structures to riff rock set to a familiar contemporary rock feel with catchy sing song, powerpop, vocal hooks and melodies. Guitar: this is heavily Jazz influenced, with melodic and shred metal tidbits here and there when called for. To get me out of Jazz mode I have to use alternate tunings. "CrowfeatheR" on the guitar is a nuclear-jazz guitarist with a sonic chameleon and multiple personality disorder complex. Every section of every song must have its own sonic principal and style that suits the feel of the music. My favorite guitar sound is from a HALO guitar and an EMG pickup. My primary instrument in the past has been the electric Bass. My greatest influences growing up were John Taylor (Duran Duran), James Jamerson, Bootzilla (that's Bootsy Collins to you), Muzz Skillins (living Color), Doug Pinnick (Kings-X, Pound hound), Chris Squire (YES) and of course Geddy Lee (Rush). Although I have the technical ability for endless masturbatory riffing and blazing runs faster than any guitar player could ever do using a pick, using my "cross finger picking" technique, I chose not to include too much of that in my popular music. I have put most of that behind me and I am trying to loose my musical ego. I am more worried about how things sound other than playing stuff no one else can. My favorite Bass tone is my custom made Bass through a bright, tube preamp with new sparkling Curt Mangan light stainless strings, mmmm, warm, punchy and crunchy. My percussion tracks are a Combination of live drums and percussion and digitally sampled or electronic, drum programming. My favorite drummers are too many to list , but include Morgan Rose (Seven Dust), Danny Carey (TOOL), Sam Mcandless (COLD), Jerry Gaskill (Kings-X) and the creator of the modern drumming style, Neil Peart (Rush). I prefer the sound of Mahogany drum shells, ported bass drum heads, a hard beater and a beater patch.

Many melodic death metal or metalcore bands compared to In Flames.
Pretty much every metalcore band comapred to Killswitch Engage, All That Remains or As I Lay Dying
Any nu-metal, and a other types are compared to Slipknot, Korn or Mudvayne
Any female fronted gothic/symphonic is compared to Within Temptation and Nightwish
Most hard rock bands compared to Breaking Benjamin
And thrash metal compared to Metallica or Megadeth
And female fronted pop-country compared to Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood

I could go on and on...

Well it's the end of 2009 and with it, time for a bunch of album of the year reviews. Mine is no exception. This review will be based solely on my likes, dislikes and opinions. I will present some facts and use them accordingly. I encourage anyone to chime in and let me know what they think, if I missed anything or even their top lists. Only albums that came out during the calendar year 2009 will be here. Without further hesitation, here are my top ten releases followed by the total track scrobbles per album. These are in no order.

Honorable mentions go out to Stone Axe (for the Extended Play EP), Mother's Green, Naam, Mustasch, Nightstalker, Megedeth, Mastodon, Mammoth Mammoth, The Machine, Lo-Pan, Kamchatka, House Of Broken Promises, Fu Manchu, The Freezing Fog, Priestess, Freedom Hawk, Dogs of Winter, Devil To Pay, Dali's Llama, Cherry Choke, Chapstik, Black Water Rising, Black River, Black Pyramid, Baroness, Baby Woodrose, Alice in Chains and Admiral of Black for putting out very good albums this year. There were a lot of other bands who also put out albums this year that I listened to but didn't quite grab me like the others.

If I were to go strictly by the scrobbles then Stone Axe would walk away with the title hands down. The self titled album was released in March of this year. I've had plenty of time to play it and play it I did. I also turned a few people onto the band in the process. My initial reaction was this sounds a little like a southern Soundgarden. In some songs where Drew is singing, he does remind me of Chris Cornell. It's not a bad thing. I didn't care for Chris Cornell's solo release this year. If I were Chris I would try to tell people that Stone Axe was my other band. Of course we all know better.

Sometime in the summer of 2009 I got into this big Queens of the Stone Age kick. I never really listened to an album thoroughly until this year. during that kick it was rumored then confirmed that Josh Homme was working with Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones. I'm a fan of Foo Fighters and Led Zeppelin so I was pretty psyched. I couldn't see their first show due to a slow Ticketmaster website and then them selling out so quick. The end result was Them Crooked Vultures. They put out a self titled release and I tell you I'm hooked. I'm hooked more then I was with any Queens material and there's a lot more of it. the first two tracks are just mind blowing and the rest of the album is just as equally good. I ordered two copies of the album. The CD/tshirt combo from the band and the iTunes release with two live tracks. I can't put this album down even if I tried.

Pearl Jam's Backspacer album was highly anticipated by me. Pearl Jam has been consistently my favorite band for the last 16 years. I don't know why but it seems that every chapter in my life revolves around a Pearl Jam release. Anytime a new album comes out, something big in my life happens. Perhaps I was always finding solace in my life by listening to their music but they always got me through. Backspacer is a much slower mellower album then past albums. Maybe because their anti-Bush messages are no longer part of their music since W is no longer president. I think Eddie Vedder's solo album had a lot of influence on making this album because there are a lot of similarities in the two.

First they disbanded then they got back together with a somewhat different lineup. The end result was a good long rocking album. Wolfmother came back this year with a pretty powerful album. Of course it has its highs and lows but it's a pretty consistent album. The last album got my hooked for the first few tracks but then it faded off. I can't think of a time when I listened to the last album from start to finish without skipping songs or turning it off all together. Cosmic Egg was a good listen from start to finish.

Clutch are no strangers to making good solid hard rocking albums. Strange Cousins From The West is no exception. The album starts out hard from the get go and doesn't let go. I think they should've called the album 50,000 Unstoppable Watts, after the song of the same name because of the amount of energy in this album. Clutch easily became one of my favorite bands this year. Seeing them four times (once as The Bakerton Group) helped solidify that. Not to mention that because of Baroness dropping out of the tour in the summer, my favorite band, Low of the Low, got to open on the main stage for them when they played in Milwaukee. Being the photographer for Low of the Low I got all access to the venue and got to see the soundcheck and meet Neil Fallon. I got to talk music for a few minutes with Neil and got to talk to him about his side project which is....

The Company Band self titled. When I talked to Neil in August he had said the album was finished and was just waiting on the record company. He said about 8 weeks or so. It was more like 12 but who's counting? This album, as good as it is and as psyched as I was to hear it, was unfortunately over shadowed by the Them Crooked Vultures release. Not only did the album release on the same day, the albums were leaked on the same day as well. I came across The Company Band album first and I'm glad I did otherwise I probably wouldn't have given it a fair chance. It's a good solid album and doesn't sound to much like a Clutch album. Obviously the comparisons are going to be there due to Neil singing on both but it's the instrumentals that set the two apart. Clutch has more a southern spacey tune to the instruments whereas The Company Band doesn't have much distortion to it. The end result is a good rock album.

When I read the reviews on Weird Owl's album and read the comparisons to Neil Young and Crazy Horse I was intrigued. I couldn't have agreed more. It's good, it rocks and there is a little psychedelic to it which is probably why they are signed to Tee Pee Records. Any Neil Young fan would like this unless the only thing by the godfather of grunge you like is his acoustic material in which case you're in for a huge disappointment.

Truckfighters and Throttlerod I'm going to talk about here at the same time. I love both bands. I think very highly of both and they both put out solid albums. I wasn't overly thrilled with either and while good, it didn't exceed my expectations like other top albums did or their previous albums. Mania sounded a little to commercial compared to past albums and Pig Charmer wasn't to far off. Maybe it was the commercial radio sound that keeps me from giving it a fair chance. I don't know. Both albums are on my iPhone still and haven't been taken off yet. I haven't listened to either album start to finish in a while but tracks have come up numerous times when I hit shuffle.

The last album I want to discuss here is Sun Gods In Exile. Eye For an Eye is the opening track and it seems that is what the band is trying to do to make their mark in music. They don't disappoint. I heard the term somewhere that said the greatest southern rock not from the south. That may be true. I don't know about the greatest but great, yes, I'd agree with that. The album doesn't let up. Like Stone Axe, I've turned quite a few people onto this band.

Enough said. Maybe it's because I'm listening to the album right now, maybe I can't put it down. I'm not sure. There were a lot of worthy candidates and a lot that I had difficulty trimming down to my top 10. It is what it is. It's a great album that will stick with my for quite sometime, perhaps well after the world ends in 2012. We shall see.

2010 promises to be another great year for music. There's a lot of good stuff in the works that will hopefully see daylight next year. Here's a list of bands working on albums that are due next year.
