Top 50 Albums (yes, another utterly useless/pointless post...)
30 nov. 2008, 0h19m par Omega_Switch22B
Okay, here's to completely mindless self-indulgence. So last.fm has been plagued by the excruciating over-abundance of these "top 50 albums" lists that came about through the top 50 albums generator that came out a while back. Well you know what? I think it's time for me to join the crowd and contribute.
I'll probably make a "my favorite albums list (just because I feel you need to know what my favorite albums are, since it's so important that you know, you know?)" in the near future, which will be quite different from this (since my last.fm scrobbles don't represent my tastes flawlessly).

Aesop Rock "Float"
22 août 2007, 0h16m par blakelvb
Artist: Aesop Rock
Album: Float
Release Date: August 1999
Label(s): MUSh
Standout Track(s): Drawbridge,
Big Bang, The Mayor and the Crook.
How I heard about it: Again, Ryan Wert.
Where I bought it: Used bin at Vertigo.
When I was first getting into Aesop Rock I was told that this was his top album so I had to go out and grab it. I still think Labor Days is better, but this is a very strong album. The first thing that jumps out at me is the pure length of the thing, 20 songs, some are very short, but there are ten that check in at over 4 minutes. The songs aren't that poppy like his more current stuff. The beats aren't the catchy part, the lyrics are the catchy part, always good when a hip hop artist can pull that off.
This is his first album and I have to imagine when it came out it received some mixed reviews. Like I said, the beats aren't catchy, it will probably never be played at your favorite club, but the guy can write and deliver lyrics like nobodies business. … -

I've decided (with the insistence of Leah :P) to make a Top 23 albums of my lifetime. One for each year.
They are going to appear in alphabetical order.
And I'm limiting myself to one album per artist as well.
I'm feeling somewhat nostalgic today, and respectful towards the roots of my music taste.
This was not easy to do AT ALL. And I'm sure that it would differ on a different day, under a different mood.
But here we go.
Adrenaline - Deftones
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f72/mistercrinkles/adrenaline.jpg
This was an album that I acquired in ninth grade. This was after people had already started listening to Rage, a band I had been into for quite some time. I needed something else to charge me up, and low and behold there was Deftones. Instantly I was blown away by their sound. They had the grunge sound of a few years prior with the angst and energy that fit my life so well at the time.
Favorite track: Lifter
Aenima - Tool

This is a comprehensive list of the albums in my collection that I enjoy. It is only about 2/3rds of my library, as many albums are ones that I no longer like or never liked. Artists of whom I have more than one album include a link to the artist's page. I will do my best to update it with additions and removals as I see fit.
Of course, if you see anything missing from here that you think I'd like, including albums from bands listed that I do not have, feel free to do so in a comment, artist recommendation, or personal message!
