My Favourite '00s albums

Banale, ma sono nel giusto momento etico-spirituale (?) per fare qualcosa di simile, dubito che successivamente avrò così tanta voglia di fare qualcosa.
1. La lista può variare con aggiunte, cancellazioni, cambiamenti di categoria, etc.;
2. Nelle rispettive categorie, gli album presenti sono ordinati in ordine alfabetico di artista senza una gerarchia di voto o preferenza;
3. Non sono incluse compilation di materiale registrato anni prima dei Noughties.

August: Six (6) Album reviews
28 août 2007, 17h46m par nicebutnubbly
5-star ratings system now implemented, woo! 1 = didn't even keep the track. 5 = very heavy rotation. Album ratings are just averages of track ratings, so commentary is a better picture of how I liked the whole, natch. I have been crazy and distracted at work this month, and haven't been listening as much as I do when my head's not full of projects, so only six albums this month. We've also redesigned our media center at home around the Mac Mini, so I'm loading all my new music onto there, but we haven't quite streamlined the "making playlists and updating iPods" bit of it, so I haven't been able to listen to a lot of this as much as I normally would.
First, an update on My Chemical Romance - Remember when I said I didn't really like The Black Parade yet but I thought it might grow on me? Can I call it, or what - that album is pretty much all I have listened to in the car for weeks. If I ever remembered to plug in my iPod to scrobble, they'd be at the top of my last.fm charts by now. … -
Albums I've been listening to recently

Lamb of God - Ashes Of The Wake
Great album to drive around in the car with. Good heavy metal really is the best driving music.
Dinosaur Jr. - Beyond
*heart* First Dino Jr album that Lou Barlow has played on since 1989. It's like he never left. Rad.
The Beatles - Abbey Road
I feel no need to explain this one.
Kings of Leon - Because Of The Times
I'm not a big fan of Kings of Leon's first 2 albums. But there's something about this one. I can't quite pick it, but I do like it. Good times.
Aesop Rock - Bazooka Tooth
This album kicks.
Everclear - Sparkle And Fade
I feel like it's 1995 all over again. And it feels good.
R.A. the Rugged Man - Die Rugged Man Die
Have only just started listening to this one. My housemate has been pushing on me for a while. I have to admit, there's some killer beats and rhymes on this disc.
Helmet - Betty
I love Helmet's albums even more after recently seeing them live. Good times.
Stone Temple Pilots - Purple
Heaps better than your favourite album. I'm not kidding.

Week 5 on last.fm. I hate 10,000 Days and hangovers.

Welcome back to another weekly installment of my weekly charts. I don't have any fancy introductory bullshit to carry on about this time around, so we'll just cut straight to the chase.
Strapping Young Lad wears the crown of number 1 this week with 69 plays. Most of that came from Alien but i do recall playing City perhaps once through... maybe twice. Strapping is fitting right now. Sometimes life is just frustrating, and one needs some unadulterated brutality to cope with life's daily stresses. That's where Strapping Young Lad comes in. Devin has an amazing voice, plain and simple. His soaring melodics, brutal growls, and nifty wall of sound production all fit quite nicely together. I have to be honest though... wall of sound production does get old after a while. I like it, and it's a head space, but Devin uses it nonstop. I almost wish he'd do a bit more. I'm sure he is a capable producer as he has other bands like Lamb of God under his belt. Though, I will say that this production job in particular was a bit lacking. … -
weekly music jan 01 - jan 08 yo!!!

Weekly Top Artists
Sunday Jan 1 - Sunday Jan 8
it is my first week of the year... obviously a good time to start analysing the music i listen to on a weekly basis*
1. Aesop Rock 44
one play each of Labor Days and Bazooka Tooth, plus a bunch of plays of one of my very favourite songs at the moment,
9-5ers Anthem.
"We the American working population hate the fact that 8 hours a day is wasted on chasing the dream of someone who isn't us, and we may not hate our jobs but we hate jobs in general that don't have to do with fighting our own causes. We the American working population hate the 9-5 day-in, day-out when we'd rather be supporting ourselves by being paid to perfect the pastimes that we have harboured based solely on the fact that it makes us smile if it sounds dope"
I'm not American, but the sentiment's universal. Aes remains the king of all.
2. Imogen Heap 41
interesting one, this... i don't think i'd paid any attention to Imogen Heap at all before this week…
