Le groupe s’est formé pendant l’année 2000 à Vancouver, au Canada. Il est actuellement composé de Jamie Hooper, Cam Pipes et Justin Hagberg comme chanteur (ce dernier étant également guitariste), Shane Clark à la guitare, Aleixei Rodriguez à la batterie et Brian Redman à la basse. Les principaux thèmes du groupe sont la piraterie et les épées. Le groupe compose une musique qui est un mélange de diverses influences, dont Iron Maiden, Running Wild et d’autres groupes provenant de la vague NWOBHM.

I grew into Fire up the Blades. It has some catchy shit in it. Advance and Vanquish will always be a masterpiece of furious riffing. I think cutting out Jamie was a big mistake, he added that something extra. As for Brian, I'll miss the way he was always on the 3IOB forums, chinwagging with the fans. RIP bro.
