So... Imaginaerum. It's what I expected, and a little more. It's thrilling, gentle, powerful, moving, profound... and kitsch. More than a little kitsch. And it aims high. Tries to speak directly to some of every human's greatest questions and fears. To succeed completely would be nothing short of a miracle, but at the very least, the published work is enough to reassert Nightwish's position as a bar-setter in the symphonic metal genre.

I know I'm a lousy reviewer, but who's going to read this anyway? I just want to get a few points off my chest.
* They NEED to do more songs in Finnish. Such a beautiful and singable language. It's always about how writing in English makes it more accessible to international audiences, but in fact not that many metal fans listen to the music for the lyrics, do they? I suspect it's all really because English is simply easier to compose. Especially when it's not the lyricist's native language. (I dare say I know a little about that.) So thanks for Taikatalvi.
