But why should we vote for him you ask? Especially after you've chummed us in with tags. I am sorry for that, but how many times have you followed a tag for a less worthy cause.

If you know me, you know I know what I am talking about when I say someone is an amazing artist. Rustin Hiatt is such a musician. Listen to him, you'll see what I mean. If the music doesn't persuade you, then I offer this.

Want to stick it to some contest-whore guitarists who believe the faster they play the better the musician they are. Till every note runs together and becomes so cliche that it isn't about good music, or even good musicianship. It's all about being redundant and even more repetitive. Because heaven forbid we should hear something fresh and new.

In fact, the three firsts of my top were hard to separate. They are impressive and incredible both equally.
But in overall, this year were'nt as good as the previous, in term of lives and releases.

About bad points, a lot of bands that I love disappointed me with poor, easy or bad releases :
DIR EN GREY, Kishidan, Plastic Tree, ナイトメア, heidi., BUCK-TICK, lynch., and... no new album by Mucc. :(

But there was some good points, like the "comeback to studio" of Metronome + BEE-315, the studs, the 犬神サーカス団 and Guruguru Eigakan new releases, and the return of THE BACK HORN to goodness after a so-so album and singles last year.

Wow, almost all of that 0.82% is due to Lordi. I'm happy that Metronome at least has a 1% rating though. It attests to their growing fanbase and awesomeness. :D

Admittedly this is biased according to the regional popularity of last.fm (not to mention its large base of young people), but hey, it's becoming more and more international so it may not be a bad represenation. Who knows, it's just a little fun gadget anyway. …
