Er, just found this researching info on Gesshoku for a friend, and came across here. I noticed someone before mentioned this that there is probably more than one Gesshoku, and I just wanted to comment and say that I'm pretty sure there is. Frypan and Izumi were only 10 and 12 respectively in 1993 (you can see their birthdates on yunisan/glassthread). And the guys in the photos look to be Kyo's age. I think it's obvious it's not them in this "月蝕" but another band made quite a bit later with the same name. D:
Masquerade sounded pretty good yeah, but the bitrate or samplerate makes it skip alot- Haven't checked if it can be rectified, but yeah as result I haven't listened to it alot-
And lets see, Kaoru talked about CHARM in the dir en grey guitar book-
"But the band I was in was pop (music) where the back performed dark metal kind of stuff (laugh). The 2 guitarists and bassist liked metal whereas the drummer and vocalist liked really pop music. This band had a strange formation. While I was in this band, I reaffirmed that I wanted to do heavier stuff " They seem to not want to mention names
but as the band was referred to as "The band before the previous band of dir en grey" which would make it CHARM-
Siva and Ruby-- Come to think of it, I've never tried looking for those-
What did he say about it then? D:
I wanna find Shinya's old band, since he's such a good drummer lol. Hm, I don't think it's impossible to find :) I'm gonna try ^-^
Also Masquerade was better than Gesshoku:p
I like to find all these to like--track their progress and past.
But I really think gesshoku sounds good though, not all of them though, the VA tracks seem to have problem with tuning guitars, the leads seem to be unrehearsed, but think about death and some of the others are really good.
One of the other things I'd like to find, is CHARM, the way Kaoru described it made it sound interesting- And I Know I've seen a picture from the Charm days, but I've never found any info or music-
Most likely he would not. XD Unfortunately.
Imo these bands are not worth listening to, considering how bad they really sound, atleast the vocals. I like to find these band because it's funny to hear how Kyo improved. ^^
And yes, I am just like you 100% sure someone have recorded something from these bands.
And another note, I'm comparing the VA tracks, to the other tracks like Think about death etc,
It don't sound like the same bassist- its less choppy, more flowy. We should interveiw kyou, about it, but I'd doubt he'd answer
Ah yeah Visnu, thats VISUN right? well spelling has changed many times, ive seen visnu Vishnu Vishun visun. Anyway yeah I'd love to find that project.Hajinkurobarazoku or 廃人黒薔薇族 might be very hard to find, if i remember correctly it was a eh sideproject, a cover/tribute band to luna sea or something. I'm not sure if they ever recorded anything. Nor where i read this.
The thing I wonder, someone out there must have tapes of all these projects. I know whenever I go see local bands I usually record them, video or audio. So someone out there must have probably recorded atleast one song live- Live in hope!
I acctually thought of it as well...
It is possible, but yeah... I think it's the same band they was in ^^
I recognize the name "Jack in the box" from somewhere, with exception for this. I can't remember where though...
Also, I find it kinda funny. If they were signed there should be more info about them... right?
Also, this site got some info; http://kyonimura.skyrock.com/
I would love to find music by Haijinkurobarazoku, Albatross & Visnu.
Oh and this is pure speculation, but concidering Gesshoku is not an uncommon name (Cd's books, etc) It might be so that the Gesshoku frypan and izumi was in was another one.
Pumpkin head was based in Nagoya and both Izumi and Frypan grew up in Gifu (Chubu, same region as Nagoya) Whilst kyou gew up in Kyouto- These two places aren't THAT far away from eachother. But it's noteworthy that they may be two different bands.
They may have been signed, ｂut since there is no picture of the rest of the cd or rest of the bands included. I'm not sure if Jack in the box or Jack in the music box is the record label or not-
I can't find any listings of such a label on any of the sites I know, but far from all indie labels get signed up or noticed.
But yeah I really want this one, but its like 3500kr-
