On the one hand, I love the texture of i'mperfect and the explosive variety in still a Sigure virgin?, but on the other hand #4 and Inspiration is DEAD are more "raw" and experimental, like they are still exploring their post-hardcore/indie sound direction. Such a hard choice to pick my favorite 時雨 album now.

Ok. I will venture to say Sony has unblocked the region locking they had on some of Ling Tosite Sigure's most current Youtube music videos. In other words, for those in the USA you can now view them without them being officially blocked for you.

Aww shoot, I got HaKU and The Novembers mixed up - I'm still not a real big fan of The Novembers though.

HaKU has the closest sound to their newest stuff. I would have considered "Who what who what" to be a song of theirs if it was an instrumental song.

The Novembers are probably closest to LTS overall (though I've never liked them very much and feel that they're an uninspired knockoff). Cinema Staff is more upbeat but has a similar complexity to their music, although they don't even approach Sigure's melodic prowess. Really, if you like Sigure, I'd skip the obvious Western band mentions (Mars Volta! Fall Of Troy! Receiving End Of Sirens!) and suggest you check out classic emo styled bands like Algernon Cadwallader, Mock Orange (only their first two albums), CSTVT, Park Jefferson, Cap'n Jazz, Mineral, Braid, etc.

Finally lived the impossible dream and saw them live last weekend, shit was amazing. Was disappointed that the setlist was almost 100% the Best of Tornado but I guess I was expecting that.

In case you missed it, you can see a few photos of the hyper tornado edition on the band's official website : http://www.sigure.jp/special0114/bestoftornado/

Perfect! I kind of was hoping for a mini photobook. And photos of the band from 2004-2013! Too good. Yes, I am such a big fan of Ling Tosite Sigure. So spending $100 is no problem. I can make accommodations for Ling Tosite Sigure anytime. I kind of feel their music is worth it. It is a kind of "name your price thing" for me. Thanks again iijamak for all the good information.

@CSthereader : The photobook is a 25x25cm square book containing approximatively 100 pages : 20 pages containing the lyrics of the songs along with photos from TK, 70 pages with photos of the band from 2004 to 2013 (it ends with the concert at the budokan), a 6 page interview (in japanese) -and a few pages containing photos of 345 and Pierre Nakano taken by TK. The packaging of the whole hyper tornado edition is really classy. If you're fan of the band (and if you can afford to spend about 100$) go ahead...
