Female Rock - 1978-2000's

Rock has obviously been dominated by male vocals, so most of the bands i listen to have male vocalists. But here are some of my all-time favorites... these include mostly singles, songs that have a video that may or may not have gotten much airplay, & many that you see normally on Karaoke lists that i love to sing... along with many others i'd luv to see at karaoke (they really need more Siouxsie & Concrete Blonde!!). They're listed basically in chronological order. There won't be nearly as many 2000's songs listed as there are 90s, sadly... it seems to have stopped there for alternative rock.

I put on a little pop afterparty at FurPleasure where every song had to be a "day of the week," which meant anything with days or dates in the artist or title. Needless to say, I thought it was a pretty fun set and wanted to share. I really like "Sunday Bloody Sunday" to "Blue Monday," I wanted to continue to Voices Carry by 'Til Tuesday, but stopped and thought better of myself. lol.

Mistakes were made, wine was spilled -- some tracks weren't eighties (Clash, YMO) I later realized. Tsk tsk.

There was a general request for 80's punk towards the middle of the set, and I ended with kitsch, two soundtrack songs and an 80's phenom's singing debut. ^^

Moon had attended a party the night before organised by Paul McCartney for the launch of the ‘The Buddy Holly Story’ movie.
