I hate the Yeah Yeah Yeahs

I don't like... well, does anyone like Frank Zappa? I can't imagine it. The man's career was a twenty-five-year-long dick joke punctuated by novelty guitar tricks.

I don't like the vast majority of Rock Bands in the Rolling Stones tradition. Okay, so you are a loud annoying jerk, and basically a misogynist, and so forth; these are bad enough things to be before you write an album about how great your life is (because you're a horrible person). Just get away from me.

Oh, and the Magnetic Fields. I don't like Stephin Merritt's blase monotone; I don't like the inert synthesizer arrangements; I don't like the lyrics, which are basically Cole Porter-esque glibness interspersed with the occasional tee-hee-I'm-talking-about-sex-aren't-I-clever? moment. So why does everyone I usually agree with like the Magnetic Fields? It infuriates me.

Et cetera, et cetera.

i'll agree, hating bands is fun. i'm not sure if that's the elitist in me.. or just me having good taste in music. but either way, i'm comfortable with this:

beyonce knowles (i could strangle her)
mariah carey (again, with the voice)
dave matthews (and band)
fall out boy (i shouldn't have to explain this one)
icp (though i often laugh at them)
slipknot (just because they have 9 drummers)

..and i used to hate modest mouse, but i'm now officially neutral.

EDIT: OH. I almost forgot to say that I hate story of the year. so much.
