No! Not real punk, but these new "punk bands" are just singing about such silly things like girlfriends and complaining about every f***ing thing in this world. 0o And many bands like that are playing pop and call it punk! I just cannot understand why? Why punk of all genres?! Too bad.. But some bands can I call pop/punk because of the way of playing: Maybe the playing is more punk than the lyrics if they're not "complaining"..

And I don't think Green Day is punk.. I'll call it Alternative/pop/punk or something..

I really don't bother of that anymore.. Just tag your bands right and I'm happy.

The first Green Day albums were good and I like them but what happend after 'Warning'...shit

I agree with that, their first albums were the best till "nimrod"...but I like "american idiot" anyway...I also think it's pop punk (pop->commercial shit) , not real punk and I started realising what's punk when I started listening GD and looking for real punk groups...

in my opinion, green day have some punk lyrics, but how everyone says, green day is pop punk; but punk can't be pop!
