Rockbox is an open source replacement firmware for mp3 players.

Rockbox runs on a number of different models:

# Apple:1st through 5.5th generation iPod, iPod Mini and 1st generation iPod Nano (not the Shuffle, 2nd/3rd/4th gen Nano, Classic or Touch)
# Archos: Jukebox 5000, 6000, Studio, Recorder, FM Recorder, Recorder V2 and Ondio
# Cowan: iAudio X5, X5V, X5L, M5, M5L, M3 and M3L
# iRiver: H100, H300 and H10 series
# Olympus: M:Robe 100
# Toshiba: Gigabeat X and F series
# SanDisk: Sansa C200 and E200 series

I have an iPod Video 5.5G, 80GB along with Rockbox 3.4 of course! FLAC support is really loveable.

I'm using the experimental "2nd gen nano" release. EQ is great. I hope they release a stable version soon.

Cowon iAudio D2 16GB + 2 fried SD-cards! Hope SD-driver for D2 becomes stable soon. Love rockbox, unfortunately my iRiver died, want it to rock my new D2 also..

Rockbox rocks my box (Iriver H10 20GB)! Amazing how much the functionality was extended by this software, really amazing! Recommend this to all music/mod/last.fm-lovers.

2.4 on archos recorder v1 (20GB) works fine ;-)... but now seen the new features, so i will update soon. keen to see the cover flow on my black-green display :-)
