sweet bands from your area.

  • sweet bands from your area.

    read the thread title.

the best grind band from my town would have to be Venocide (my band) because i think we are the only grind related band going here.

as for the vancouver area it is full of sweet bands like war hero, osk, mudlark and mass grave.

  • Not many from my area.. The Seizures (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=383863036) are one of the only decent ones. There's also Assembly of Dog (basically a Napalm Death worship) who are still jamming at the moment, and my band, who are also still jamming. I'll post links when there are links to post, and if this thread is still up.

Oh, and there used to be AEX (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=396377369) and Genosha Project (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=323397463).

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, so I'm lucky that there's lots of great bands from here including the ONLY original powerviolence band in existence: Capitalist Casualties! They have some shows coming up w/Verbal Abuse & Fang next month that are going to rule. My favorite local bands are Voetsek and In Disgust.

As for powerviolence in copenhagen, Denmark, it's never been the big thing... but there's a few bands worth mentioning:

Dead Instrument play blazing DIY Grind with some slow parts, their live shows are killer. check them out:
    www.myspace.com/deadinstrument

Ripping headache play fast hardcore with a thrashy edge: www.myspace.com/rippingheadache

Then i have to mention my own band Shitcomet (yeah it's a low brow name). We have a more power-violency approach to playing music with both slow and fast parts - you can download the songs for free here at last.fm. you can also check out www.myspace.com/shitcomet

Finally there's my other band, Livores of Earth. We play grind with sludgy parts (which probably files it under grindviolence or something). You can listen to some older recordings at www.Myspace.com/livoresofearth but new ones are coming soon.

Most of the above is downloadable or will be on www.Perpetualvomit.blogspot.com

    long post. Keep fast folks
