Toggle screenoff while listen to music

Is it possible to turn off the screen while listening to music using Pocket Scrobber?

    thanks.

  • I'm not sure how to understand your question. Yes, it is possible to turn off the screen. Pocket Scrobbler should be kept running as long as you play music.

If you are asking on how to turn off the screen: At least on most HTC devices, simply use the standby hardware button and playback should continue as long as the headset or a bluetooth headset is connected.

  • Nah, it stops playing for me once I turn off the screen.

    AT&T Tilt

  • In that case I'd try this free application (you could map it to a hardware button).

Is Pocket Scrobbler using unattended mode to turn the device off? I know that power mode allows you to keep programs running in the background after you've pushed the power button.

As far as I know, unattended mode turns off the audio, so this isn't really an option. Furthermore, I'm not sure whether Pocket Scrobbler should influence the power managment at all, because most of the media player take care - or should take care - of the problem already (and if I understand correctly, as long as there is audio, Pocket Scrobbler keeps running, doesn't it).

Addendum: At least WMP natively includes a feature to turn off the screen using a hardware button. Use Menu > Options > Buttons > "Toggle Screen" to configure it.

I can turn off the screen with my power button when listening to music when using HTCs music player, so it is possible...i have no idea how it does it though... =]

  • When listening to the Last.fm radio on Pocket Scrobbler, when you put you press the power button on your device, the music stops playing. That's my issue with it! :-)

Thanks for clarifying. Just as Demostrike I thought this was about turning off the screen while using a separate media player (and Pocket Scrobbler for scrobbling only). For turning off the screen while listening to the radio, use the freeware application I mentioned above. The next version with its new radio GUI will feature a built-in feature to turn off the screen.
