    The auth.txt file, the auth class and all that

    It's not clear to me from reading the documentation at http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/phplastfmapi, how I go about creating the auth class or the auth.txt file.

    The FAQ says "You will need to create your own to use the examples. To do this run the auth example which will redirect you to Last.fm servers and then create the file. " When I do this, I get a page that looks like this...

    API Key:
    Secret:
    Username:
    Session Key:
    Subscriber:

    Get New Key

    .. which links me to "http://www.last.fm/api/auth?api_key="; which says "Invalid API key."

    Thanks in advance,
    Ben

    The documentation is a bit limited IMO. Perhaps you already figured out how to do this but I'll reply anyway. Go to your Last.fm API account - there you can see your API key.

    When you've done that, just add this to the page where your data retrieving will be:

    $authVars['apiKey'] = 'YOUR_KEY';

    Also make sure that this is included on the top of the page as well:

    require 'phplastfmapi-0.7.1/lastfmapi/lastfmapi.php';

    Remember to type the correct path if it's different from this example!

    And now you can go on fetching data by copying the code from the files in the examples folder. Hope this has been helpful. Good luck. :)
