Favourite Nietzsche Book?

I have to say, I'm not much of an expert on Nietzsche. I'm currently reading Beyond Good and Evil.

What about the rest of you?
What are you reading, and what's your favourite book(s) by Nietzsche?

I really like Thus Spoke Zarathustra - there are heaps of great quotations. But The Twilight of the Idols and Antichrist are also very good. I should say: painfully true.

I prefere mostly "The Antichrist"

how is Nietzsche translated? Is it enjoyable?

Personally I think the best book by Nietzsche is either Beyond Good And Evil or Twilight Of The Idols. They sum up pretty well all the geniousness that Nietzsche possessed

I also like his 1870 and early 1880 period before Zarathustra.

I read everything he wrote (save some of the letters) and my favorite stays Beyond Good And Evil.

"Tak pravil Zarathustra" is the most powefull book IMO. I am currently reading "Radostna veda" (Die fröhliche Wissenschaft) and i think it is more interresting than (for example) Antichirst.

Beyond Good & Evil is a very strong piece. Nietzsche is indeed fascinating.

First I started reading "Zur Genealogie der Moral", then I started reading "Der Antichrist" and at the moment I read "Also Sprach Zarathustra"..
I did not yet finish any of his books.. not that I don't like to read them.. I'm actually very fascinated about Nietzsches work and it's a pleasure reading him.
But I don't know.. just rarely finish a book.. but the Zarathustra I will.. and someday I will have read every single one of his books.. that's it so far ^^v

"Zur Genealogie der Moral" is his best piece of philosophy, as "Jenseits von Gut und Bose" - the best and most complete definitions of Nietzsche's Philosophy. Although, "Also Sprach Zaratustra" illustrates his literary virtuosism and incredible creative capacity.

Well because Nietzsche is my generally favorite artist I can't really say which of his book is the best to me;

beyond good and evil requires a lot of philosophy baggage, if you understand what I mean. Reading a critic of german philosophy or of stoicism is something that needs prior study of the matters in question.
I liked a lot of what I read, but some parts I simply did not understand because of my lack of knowledge on the subject.

Zaratustra and the Antichrist are much more free from this bagage, and so they are easier to read and understand.
The Antichrist really comes up and being a great book if we take in account that it was written in less than a month.
The true power of zaratustra is, in my opinion, enclosed in the original german text. Reading a translation you get the idea, but you don't get the nuances of the german language. And that is very important in this book specifically.

Zarathustra is an incredible vast and complex book. It's like his "opus magnum", considering his philosophy as single-corpus, and regarding it from a artistic point. Very important is here the ultimate expression of the "philosophical dramatization", one of the most particular concepts in Nietzsche, in my opinion. About translations, I've only read the portuguese version, but I can agree with cenofm about it. German and Portuguese, are very different languages, etymologically and grammatically, and I defend that in philosophy, the language not in itself, but our contact with his characteristics, its the source of our compreension.. and in this fact.. as an authentic and almost total interpretation of it - what in my opinion still makes Nietzsche's Philsophy so great.
