    Favourite bands?

OK, I know it's a dorky question, but what's everybody's favourite New Romantic groups?

I've apparently been listening to Visage a lot lately, but other favourites inclue Japan, Toyah and Adam & the Ants.

Depeche Mode (their New Romantic part of career is really great - "A Broken Frame"!), The Human League. I'm getting some Visage right now.

edit: I got into New Order's singles collection, too :)

  • I love them all, but most of all Duran Duran, Japan, Ultravox (both the John Foxx era and Midge Ure era), Visage, Human League, Blancmange, Classix Nouveaux, Spandau Ballet, Heaven 17, Talk Talk, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Tears For Fears, and Alphaville. Also, would you guys classify Naked Eyes as New Romantic or would they be more synthpop? Because I love Naked Eyes too.

  • Soft Cell, Propaganda ,Japan, Ultravox ,Yazoo & Visage.are a few of my Fave's.

    Have fun and Keep Rockin!

Taken from an online presentation from another community:
    Ratata - Lustans Lakejer - Tredje mannen - Adolphson & Falk - Reeperbahn - Page - Daily Planet - Japan - Indochine - Alphaville - D.A.F. - David Sylvian - New order - Yazoo - Erasure - Bronski Beat - Eurythmics - Kai Martin & Stick! - Viva - Demian D - Reporter - Tora! Tora! - Yellow magic orchestra - Ryûichi Sakamoto - Ippu-do - Hikashu - Yukihiro Takahashi - Akiko Yano - Petshop boys - Neon, Assembly - ABC - Berlin - Associates - Human league - Classix - Spandau ballet - Data - Gary Numan - Tubeway army - Dramatis - Hot butter - Walter Carlos - Heaven 17 - Clock - Nina Hagen - Glas - Ultravox - John Foxx - Telex - Lio - Mobiles - Laurie Anderson - Nena - NASA - Strasse - Stadion - Orchestral manoeuvres in the dark - British electric foundation

Since I am swedish, I am very interested in Swedish new wave/new romantic. I am also in love with some of the very interesting japanese new romantic bands out there.
One of my biggest inspirations is David Sylvian and everything he has done from the time of Japan to todays Nine Horses. And if you like Sylvian, you have to like Sakamoto and YMO too, so from there, the list just becomes bigger with bands who inspired that other band and peple who worked with that other guy and so on.
    Interesting world ;-)
