    Mind if I interject

    into all this Beatles stuff?

I'm currently at my Mum's house (between flats), and I've just been subjected to a lecture on Sgt Peppers being nothing new, at the time. Apparently Jefferson Airplane had it covered two years before. Oh, as for Pink Floyd...shitty karaoke version of Country Joe and the Fish. I'm not in a position to argue, so I'll take her word for it...especially seeing as Electric Music For Mind and Body strikes me as a far better LP to get off your tits to than any of that pompous Roger Waters fuckery...

    Eeeeeep.
  • u and ur mum suck! haha.

I've been meaning to look into getting the 40th anniversary edition of Piper At The Gates', it occurred to me that none of my Floyd cds have bonus tracks, i dont think. I'd LOVE a few more Barret era Floyd songs - I'm away to check up on that now...

    Heh

do you have Lawrenson's rubbish moustache?
Anyway, it's the earnest seriousness of Pink Floyd I can't stand. All the west coast psychedelia has a proper sense of humour...as it should...acid's a joke, right? Anyone that claims insight from that stuff is either a fraud or a fool.

    Eeeeeep.
  • i dont know, we're talking about piper at the gates' here - right? i think that cds pretty humorous, and that half live cd to, the woodland animals and all that.

  • by the looks of things the new Piper' has both mono and stereo versions of the album (so the fuck what! u like one or the other, and unless ur deaf in one ear, u like the stereo version) and on the third disc u get alternate takes and singles, ie. See Emily Play (which i have only heard done by David Bowie). sounds like its worth DLing the third disc anyway.

DAMN U LSD! ...and cowfoot's Mother once again.

Ummm...sorry, but that's horseshit. Jefferson Airplane didn't exist two years before Sergeant Pepper, and any of their antecedents were playing the same old blues-band covers that The Animals and The Rolling Stones were playing at the Crawdaddy Club.

There have only been three/four good bands that ever came from the San Francisco Bay area:
Sly & The Family Stone, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Game Theory/The Loud Family. That's it.

    Today's Lyrics

    The Beatles - Yesterday

    Yesterday,
All my troubles seemed so far away,
Now it looks as though they're here to stay,
    Oh, I believe in yesterday.

    Suddenly,
I'm not half the man I used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me,
    Oh, yesterday came suddenly.

    Why she
Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say.
    I said,
Something wrong, now I long for yesterday.

    Yesterday,
Love was such an easy game to play,
Now I need a place to hide away,
    Oh, I believe in yesterday.

    Why she
Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say.
    I said,
Something wrong, now I long for yesterday.

    Yesterday,
Love was such an easy game to play,
Now I need a place to hide away,
    Oh, I believe in yesterday.

    Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm.
