    User Interface glitches

Two issues I found somewhat annoying whilst using last.fm Mobile:

    1. Long track names get cut.

Edit: Removed image; displayed bug is fixed.

I haven't tested this but this will probably also happen with artist and album names. Possible solutions are to either make the labels bigger or cut the names with ... when they do not fit.

    2. Some controls are invisible in landscape mode.

Edit: Removed image; displayed bug is fixed.

The "About last.fm Mobile" button is invisible here. Similarly the "Scrobble now!" button on the cache tab becomes invisible in landscape mode.

The layout of the interface should adapt to changes of the screen orientation.

These issues are non-critical I'd say but it would be nice if they can be fixed.

For v1.3 I have discovered another small glitch: The track list is displayed a bit awkward in landscape mode now.

Edit: Removed image; displayed bug is fixed.

Again, nothing really urgent but simply annoying. ;)

  • Should also be fixed in GUI v1.3.2894.35631.

Looks fine now even in landscape mode. Thanks for the fast fix.

Another small issue that I already saw with v1.3 and that still occurs in v1.4: After stopping playback last.fm Mobile still displays the time of the track at which playback was stopped or when it was scrobbled (whichever happened first).

Similar to the other bugs mentioned in this thread this is only a cosmetic problem. ;)

Hm, not quite sure whether this should be changed. After all, the client cannot differentiate between a track being paused or stopped. Don't know whether it is desirable to hide the track length/duration when then track is paused only. What do you think?

Well, there seems to be a difference though: When a track is paused the information about the song (artist, title, album) are still being displayed in last.fm Mobile. When playback is completely stopped this information disappears and only the time stays on the screen.

last.fm Mobile with paused playback on the left and with stopped playback on the right:

Edit: I just experimented a bit. With the standard skin of Windows Media Player stopping playback isn't even possible, you have to quit WMP to have playback really stopped (via Settings->System->Memory->Running Programs). This has then the same effect as stopping playback in TCPMP (i.e. all information about a running track is cleared via the Notification API).

  • I have noticed on my phone it will put the first song that is played up on the display and cache that one to be scrobbled but does not display info of next song or cache that info as well.

I guess you are talking about this problem. Which WMP version are you using?
