Killed in Cars is the blog. This is the group.

Long before Killed in Cars came into existence, many of the contributors here spent years passing music back and forth, refining their tastes and exploring a wide variety of music. Eventually, through various Rate Your Music lists, and last.fm profiles, it became apparent that a centralized site would help things dramatically. By bringing this site public, we’re hoping that we can meet new people, and that these new people will deepen out appreciation of music, and that an ongoing dialogue will form.

While passing albums back and forth is great, the discussion is key. Also, what is key is to subvert any attempts to create some indie-canon. This site is a free-for-all, and there are no limits on genre, period, etc., as there are no requirements for what is posted to be fashionable, or even make sense. There is more music than can ever be cataloged, but perhaps this site can help you branch into new areas that seemed foreboding or overly esoteric.

Long term, we hope to translate your interest, and the talents of the growing list of contributors, into a full fledged, legitimate webzine. Additionally, we’ve already begun to discuss moving towards having an internet music label, followed by a full-fledged label. If you have interest or expertise in any of the above, join the conversation.

Seriously LOVE the stuff you post. My greatest joy in life would be for you guys to eventually post some album of mine. That's how much I love your blog. I seriously download every single thing you post. My favorite stuff is usually the electronic stuff... that Redshape and Photek albums just blew my mid to pieces.
