Yes I own a Baby Taylor. Actually My 10 year old son owns it. I bought it for him last year and he lost interest since it doesnt have an x-box 360 game port, which is why I bought it for him in the first place... too much x-box... he can however play the hell out of guitar hero.

2) If you don't own one yet : which kind, brand model are you planning on buying ?

Maybe a bigger Taylor if I can master the Baby.

3) How long and how seriously have you been playing ?

I have owned guitars since I was 13 yrs old, I am now 43. 30 years of owning guitars. My skill level is most likely below zero since I have probably learned how "not" to play very well. I promise never to play smoke on the water or attempt dream on or stairway to heaven, I promise I promise I promise.

4) How would you describe your level ?

5) In which music style is your guitar playing oriented ?

I desire to aspire...hmmm maybe theres a poetry for dummies group also. I am a huge Blues Guitar fan with some jazz mixed in. Robben Ford would be the kind of player I would like to emulate. Texas/Chicago/Electric Blues.

6) Do you write music/compose or planning to do so ?

No, No, and who knows?

7) Are you expecting something specific from this group ?

acceptance and a sense of humor. Were only on this planet for a short time, it ought to be fun.

I like playing both although I'm a little bit bored how my fender sounds

I like to buy a Fender Telecaster or Gibson, in fact there are many guitars I like to buy but don't have the money

I started playing when I was 15 years old by teaching it myself, I played in some bands but when I was 22 i stopped for some time. Nom I'm 33 and I'm playing again every now and then for about 5 years

4) How would you describe your level ?

I think my level is that of a rhythm guitarist. I stay at the same level now for quite some time...

5) In which music style is your guitar playing oriented ?

Rock, blues, folk

6) Do you write music/compose or planning to do so ?

I wrote some numbers in the past and I did it also some time ago, lyrics and music. I like it very much...good for the soul

I hope i can get some advice or learn some tricks and share some experiences

I'm a huge nick drake fan...i like his guitar playing. I also like the gypsy guitar of Django Reinhardt. If I could play like them.

A black Westfield acoustic and a really cheap flying V electric guitar >.>

Beginer - Can play a few tabs but no chords or such, only started to learn to fingerpick which is pretty fun :)

Erm..Half of them are random, like the Super Mario andTetris themes, then Twinkle Twinkle little star and such xD

I own an acoustic and a bass guitar but I have access to whole lot of different guitars because of my family(like steel stringed acoustics, electric guitar, another bass, ukulele(bad ass instrument), etc).

The acoustic one has pickups so I can play it amplified as well which is cool.. like once every two year.. The bass is a Warwick Rockbass( = cheaply made Warwick) Corvette. It works.

3) How long and how seriously have you been playing ?

I have been playing since I was 13 or something so I guess that makes it.. 5-6 years? I started playing bass when I was 15.

I've been playing seriously before but now it's mostly just for fun. I've been too busy lately to play seriously.

4) How would you describe your level ?

Average. I'm pretty good but it's nothing I would brag about.

5) In which music style is your guitar playing oriented ?

All of them, pretty much(well, those I know of). There is just too many fun styles to just focus on one of them.

6) Do you write music/compose or planning to do so ?

I did record a god-awful track once but I'm currently just trying to compose something good. Maybe I will try recording again when I actually have something to record. :P

7) Are you expecting something specific from this group ?

Some pointers I guess? I'm always trying to improve myself..

Hard rock/metal. I think I'd make a better rhythm guitarist than lead... I'm not enuff of a showoff :P

Nope.. but I know what sounds good (musically). I was in the marching band in high school (and regret not learning guitar instead).

i've got an esteban guitar. my dad bought it for me off of the TV about three years ago (?) yes, i think so. i was 15. it just sat in my room and i never touched it. can anyone tell me if it's a good guitar?

Mh... Maybe Level 1... My fingers don't hurt anymore (or not as strong as 2 years ago) when I put them on the strings. :) This motivates me. ^^

I'd like to play something like funk... I'm not a rocker! And I don't like metal. One of my favourite bands is Coldplay... So I'd like to play something like they do.

Yes, I play the keyboard for 7 years now and I compose my own music. I'd like to do this with the guitar as well.

Basic tips, I think the most you have to learn yourself with practising.

Sorry if I wrote nonsense ^^ I'm from Germany and I still learn english, so my english isn't perfect. But I hope you understand me and I hope I understand you. :D German websites for practising the guitar are not very useful, so I'll try my best here.

Introducing myself

No. But one of my friend does. She has an acoustic guitar, but I don't know the brand. We intend to learn how to play together using the same guitar.

Someday, when I will afford a good one. So, I haven't decide on the brand, yet.

3) How long and how seriously have you been playing ? & 4) How would you describe your level ?
Never. I'm an absolute beginner.

5) In which music style is your guitar playing oriented ?
Well, I'm planning on playing folk, rock and alternative rock songs for a start. I will also try other genres once I am a proficient guitar player. Since I have an eccletic taste in music, I will try to put to the test the possibilities of musical expression of this instrument. I don't know how good a guitar player I will become in the end, but I do like to experiment, to play with things in general. It's how I learn.

6) Do you write music/compose or planning to do so ?
Maybe someday, if I have time.

Help & advice if I don't understand one or more of the instructions posted here. Tips on improving my playing.

I would love to have a really high-end guitar, Taylor perhaps but for the most part mine gets the job done! Maybe later on an Electric guitar as well.

3) How long and how seriously have you been playing ?
9months and pretty much just a fun hobby, I've been teaching myself and I can start hearing improvements. On avg now I play about 3-5 times a week just trying to learn new songs.

4) How would you describe your level ?
Okay - Decent

5) In which music style is your guitar playing oriented ?
Well two of my favorite artists to listen to are both John Mayer and Jason Mraz so I always find myself trying to learn their songs but to be honest Im not really tied down to one style

6) Do you write music/compose or planning to do so ?
No, but have much respect for those who do!

7) Are you expecting something specific from this group ?
To meet others with the same love for learning guitar as me and hopefully that just love music in general. And beyond the meeting new people, you can never get too many tips, pointers, and help.

I own an acoustic Epiphone, but I have forgotten which model it was so I'll put that up later.

Even though I already said owned one, I would really like to try a Fender Telecaster, a Rickenbacker 330,
and maybe even a Gibson Es-355.

Well, to be honest, I started playing guitar around late August to mid September 2007. But it really didn't go anywhere, since I was also playing an Alto Sax and Piano at the same time. Soon I just dropped Sax to focus entirely on Piano. Luckily with encouragement from friends at camp, I picked up guitar up again around October 2008. Since then, I've been trying to practice just about everyday ever since.

I seem to be more serious about playing guitar than I ever was last year.

4) How would you describe your level ?
From my point, I'd say I'm becoming progressing beginner.

5) In which music style is your guitar playing oriented ?
I'll play anything right now, as long as I learn along the way.
Eventually though, I'd like to start to playing in a New Wave/Rock/Indie/Post-Punk/Alternative oriented style.

6) Do you write music/compose or planning to do so ?
Not right now, but I definitely would like to.

7) Are you expecting something specific from this group ?
Nothing Specific, just about anything that will help me progress.

8) Any commentary you'd like to add about yourself.
I'm addicted to music and I'm listening to some as I type this out.

My board for the past years has been the basic starter one, Ibanez GRX-10. It's nothing spectacular, but it does the trick. I should get a new, better one, but before that I have to update my amp, which is another starter basic, Crate GX15R. The lack of distortion didn't bug me some time ago, but now it seriously does when I wanna sound heavy and even heavier as possible. Just waiting for Christmas...

Like said, I have to get a new amp soon. I'll get back on it later.

3) How long and how seriously have you been playing ?
I started around when I was 14, played some Metallica, Nirvana and Iron Maiden in some cheap school cover band for a while, hanged up the guitar for about two years when I was 16 and started again with bigger passion than ever during the last summer.

Limp Bizkit and Sum41 would be proud of me.

5) In which music style is your guitar playing oriented ?
Nu & industrial metal. Also trying to provide some quirky stuff like Primus, The White Stripes and Queens of the Stone Age.

I would like to, but I'm not that good on composing with guitar. I like more of drums and synths, but I couldn't afford a drum set and synth used to look so uncool next to a guitar. I get more ideas with them than with guitar, so I'm not that good on creating something new out of nomwhere with guitar.

a few, epiphone les paul special II, Stagg sw201 acoustic (gunna sell it coz its 3/4 size and i have grown), fender strat (my first) swift sg(really bad, gunna sell it) jaxville flying v (gunna sell it) and a really old 'prince c425' (got this free from someone when i was really little
